I read that we are here to fulfill our life's goal and then we die. True?

I was reading a bunch of books about getting a job. One wrote about finding your life's purpose, the reason you specifically were put here, when you accomplish it, you die. Do you believe that? I think I've had many goals in my life that I've accomplished and I'm still here. But maybe my most important reason for being here hasn't been accomplished yet? What do you think your life's goal is? Have you accomplished it yet? Are you accomplishing it? Do you think when you reach the goal, you will die? If that's true, then people who want to live a long time would put off their goals, don't you think?

If that's the case I don't think so. I think we are here to make up for the mistakes we made in our "previous life"...lol

In that case, I think I made up for a lot in the years I suffered. Must be after suffering, I was supposed to learn how to be happy, too.
Thanks for your input and thank you for becoming my friend.

Yes i too believe with ur statements. When i am small, usually i do prayer to god.My gradma use to tell some tale stories.I used to listen them and went into deep sleep. When i am young,i use to discuss each and every point with my dad. So,when i am studying some book,i came across the sentence what u have mentioned.I went near him and asked the meaning of it.As my dad is quite enough in gaining knowledge in different streams,he said it is correct. He usually says to me first build urself and then start giving a helping hand to others.

It does sound like your Father knows about many kinds of things or has knowledge in many areas.
His last advice, to build your knowledge and abilities so that you can start helping others was very good.
I also give that advice to teenagers who want to date and get married. Date, OK, but get married after you've developed your skills, abilities, knowledge, interests, etc.
It sounds like your Father and I have similar beliefs.
Your Grandmother sounds very interesting, too. Telling stories, especially before a person goes to sleep, is a wonderful way to build more brain power. Often I go to sleep with a problem and wake up with a solution.
You said a great deal in your response. Thank you very much. I think you have given people a lot to think about.
