Let's have a rational discussion on the North American Union

Here on mylot it is sometimes hard to have a rational discussions about certain controversial issues. What I hope to do with this discussion is to shed light on the positive and necessary sides to the North American Union. I must say before I start this discussion that I used to be an ultra-nationalist that would always have a knee jerk reaction that I heard something like this, but reality eventually sets in. And the world that we live in is different than it was 10 years ago. About 10 years ago, the European Union was in its infancy, and it appeared that it was going to break up. 10 years ago, Canada had more population than 1/2 of the European countries. 10 years ago, the U.S. was 4 times as big as the most populated country of Europe, and Mexico was 150% the population of the largest European country. Now we sit here with a unified Europe that is becoming stronger every day. The total population of this European Union is 493 million people. Lets just look at how that compares to each one of our individual countries:
Canada- 33 million. If I do the math, that makes the European Union 15 times the size of Canada.
United States- 300 million. The European Union is 150% larger than the U.S.
Mexico- 100 million. That puts the European Union 5 times the population of Mexico.
If we unite as the Europeans across the ocean, that would put our combines population at 440 million people. That would put us at just about 50 million short of our European counterparts. If you look at our Chinese counterparts at 2 billion, and the Indians at 1 billion, you can obviously see that we are not strong enough as individual countries. I am not talking about doing away with Constitutions or what not. I am discussing an economic and military alliance. If we pull our resources together like the Europeans do, we would be a bigger block in a trade war.

All the joining of these coutiries like the EU and the NAU. Is just a stepping stone for them to put in a new government to control them all. In that gov, there will be no rights, and no constituion.
Well there will be a constituion but it will be modeled on Hitler's and the Soviet Union's constituion.
Of course their plans got really screwed up when immigration reform did not pass.. thank god.
Also Once Ron Paul wins.. you can say goodbye to any hope of ever having a NAU.
Even if you are not talking about doing away with freedom and rights. They are talking about that. And that is exactly their goal. They want to enslave the human population and put microchips into all human beings.. so they can be tracked and traced like animals.. and dogs... and they can see everything you do and you'd have no privacy... how's that for freedom?
thank you.

Oh yeah Nick Rockefeller Admitted to Hollywood Director Aaron Russo, that they want to enslave everyone with microchips, have a cashless society. And that the war on terror, is just a fraud to make people scared and give up all rights and freedoms.. so they can unite all counties.. into one global fascist, and totalitarian government.
The reason they desperately need microchips.. is because they know that the dollar value is almost worthless and even if they switch to another currency it won't be long till they need to make money digital to hold their power over the good people of the US.

I know somewhere down deep in your psychi, there is a rational thought process going on in your brain. Now you may have bound it, you may have gagged it, and you may have knocked it upside it's head a couple of times but I know that it is there. I am going to attempt to turn you back into a rational person. I have four simple questions to ask you:
1. Does Canada have a totalitarian government that puts microchips into human beings?
2. Does the U.S. have a totalitarian government that puts microchips into human beings?
3. Does Mexico have a totalitarian government that puts microchips into human beings?
4. Then how would it be that the 3 countries combined would turn into totalitarian government that puts microchips into human beings?
Just because someone says something doesn't make it true. If I said that starting a discussion on mylot will turn your nose blue. Does this mean that your nose is going to turn blue? And for the same example, just because somebody says that the NAU will be a totalitarian government that puts microchips into human beings, doesn't mean that that is how it is going to turn out. Why can't a NAU be a good thing? Why do people like yourself have to be afraid of everything that is new? At one time, men were afraid to sail across the ocean because of the fear of falling off the planet.
Lastly, I question your rationale when you say that Once Ron Paul wins, what are you looking somewhere in the future like 30 years from now? Ron Paul has no chance of winning the nomination of his own party, and he is percieved as a kook by a majority of Americans. I do like Ron Paul, but reality does finally set in.

At the rate that illegals are pouring in over the borders, soon we will have much more population. I hardly think Canada will want to join with the US. We have a lot in common and do things similar, but I think they do not want to come under total control of the US. And Mexico has many more poorer people because their econimic developement has lagged. Can you imagine our government trying to support all those people? We already have trade agreements in place. No matter what we do, China will likely become the nest big economic power within the next 30 or 40 years.

I think the problem with a North American Union working in line with the EU is the fact that it won't exactly be a union of Equals. The major economies of the EU were all on some what of an equal footing in terms of their national development. By contrast, the USA dominates the economy of North America and while Canada and the USA are developed nations - Mexico is not.
In theory an NAU is not a bad thing. Mexico can provide the labour for USA and Canada and progress. A richer and stronger Mexico should mean less Mexicans wanting to cross the border as illegals.
But its going to take some time. Americans are paranoid about being overrun by illegals. Mexicans are sensetive to "Gringo" interference from the North. Demographics in the USA will probably move in favour of a stronger union with Mexico and Canada - but that will be quite some time from now

The risks of a NAU far outweigh the benefits. We would lose our sovereignty, our cherished American freedoms, the Constitution, Independence, and retention of the American standard of living. The middle class would be obliterated. There'd be only the extremely wealthy and the dirt poor. Foreign companies would buy up all the infrastructure. When you pay an electric bill, you'd most likely be paying it to some French company.
The NAU and SPP calls for an open borders policy. That's why little is currently being done to seal the borders and stop illegal immigration. This is leaving gaping wounds along the border where terrorists can easily gain access to our nation, and reports show that they ARE coming in.
