Baby Shower Blues am I wrong?

Ok I have a couple of nieces who have had babies I went to their baby showers the first ones and I told them I would not be attending the second but I did give a gift. On the day of the shower they called me to ask was I coming I said once again No they call again and I let my oldest daughter speak and she told them no she wasn't coming because she had something else planned before hand. They start saying well we came to your childrens B-day and why can't you come then they hang up. Now at the time 2 days before they did come to my daughters party and when they came I told them there also that I wasn't coming plus they said no boys I have 2 boys and I really didn't want to go. Now my nephew and his girlfriend is having a baby shower his first one and I plan to attend I know this will make them upset if they are not already but it doesn't matter because I'm going and I will try to be cool about it lol. If they have a second baby shower I will not be attending.

I think they have been quite rude about it, you told them you weren't coming and then they continued to hound you about it. You were polite enough to give a gift, they should have been happy with that. Hanging up like that is just plain ignorant, most reasonable people would accept the excuses of prior plans and then of the situation with the boys.

Well, I am not sure why they were being mean to you when it was them who said that your boys couldn't come. That is just so wrong of them. I don't think you did anything wrong and they deserved it.
