India is very popuplated today and they are second as most populous in the world.
If you were one of the inhabitants in India and selected as prime minister what will you do to slow the birth?
What are your plans in the near future...as prime minister?

I think I'd do something about the education ....so that it reaches the masses. I've realized that people in urban areas usually have 2-3 kids per family and some choose not to have any at all (a very small percentage). It is usually people in the slums and rural areas who have more kids and thus there is an increase in population.
I don't think any of the present family planning schemes are working very effectively....but I have been reading that in certain rural pockets it has worked wonders(but again that's a very small number compared to the total population).
Another thing that can be done is woman empowerment. Women should legally have a say in family planning.

I do not really know much about Indian history to help answer this question about its government. I wouldn't know for sure.
