Bumble Bee Foods, LLC, voluntarily expanded its recall from last week due to possible botulism contamination. “Consumers who have any of these products or any foods made with these products should throw them away immediately. Double bag the cans in plastic bags that are tightly closed then place in a trash receptacle for non-recyclable trash outside of the home. Signs and symptoms of botulism include double vision, blurred vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech, difficulty swallowing, dry mouth, and muscle weakness” http://www.idph.state.il.us/public/press07/7.23.07BotulismWarning2.htm Can you trust any food company now?

This is getting way out of hand. You never know what is going to happen next. You know that my Grandma, years ago, said that the terrorists would get us, through our food supply. We would have no way of knowing until it was too late. Makes you wonder.

It is a sad thing that these companies have quality control people and still this happens to much. Someone isnt doing a good job. I blame the companies theirselves because when I working in quality control we were told to inspect every so many batches instead of all that way production would be faster and they would make money and to what expens the consumer's of course. Anyway here is a very good and informative wed site to learn about treatment and prevention of batulism.

First of all, thank you for informing me and the other mylotters about that. No. i do not think that we can really trust any food company today, we do not really know what they put on their food, and what is written is not always all that are in it. I personally think that the best way is to eat basic natural food that we make ourselves. I made a decision to eat basic foods long time ago, and alote of problems have been solved since then.

I have to agree with you. I eat only not processed food. I make my food. I try to eat raw food as much as possible and mostly fruits and vegetables... Additional recall from FDA: http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2007/NEW01676.html

Bumble Bee?? Yeesh--I know it was mainly the Castleberry stews and chilis, but it is making me wonder about their tuna... I didn't see anything on the list about the tuna...and I've been eating Bumble Bee tuna lately...yikes...Did you know that the Castelberry brand of foods is most often the type of canned foods given out at food pantries?? I know as I often used to go to them and that was the brand they always handed out

It is getting to the point where we all will have to go back to the basics. I am talking about growing our own food and living off of what ever we can produce ourselves. I dont think I can trust any company now. For the safty of my family and my self I am afraid to go shopping and buy goods. Thankyou for this discussion and the awareness of this. Peace, Totty

Well, I do not think I have heard of this one before. Thanks for sharing this and I will make sure I don't buy that kind of brand.
