When driving in a high elevation area or mountainous area or flying in a plane we experience the ear drumps pop. How do you overcome that and get rid of it?

This sounds really silly but I hold my nose then blow into it as hard as I can! Works better than anything else I have ever tried! xxx

I know but it is the only thing that helps me as even chewing gum or sucking on a hard candy doesn't help prevent it! xxx

This helps but only temporarily and you have to start blowing again.

i dont think our eardrums pop during that situations. i have been in both situations and my eardrums didnt pop. if it did i would probably be deaf by now. ^__^ however, i dont know what happens with our eardrums during those situations. but my mother said that she should've given me a candy when i took that flight. and when im in a mountain i just try to yawn and yawn until my eardrums are normal. ^__^

lol when the eardrums pop you become temporarily deaf. Since I am always travelling on mountainous area I suffer deafness till I reach lowland. I don't take anything but wait till my eardrums come back to normal.

I try to chew gum when I am going to be in those situations. Sometimes it still happens anyway but not as bad as if I wasn't chewing. At those time I just yawn and it clears it right up.

For me drinking water does not relieve it.
