first film to be released with a commentary?

I found a special edition of The Usual Suspects on VHS in a charity shop - the first video is the film and the 2nd is the whole film again but with the creaters talking over it. I've seen some videos (just they were being phased out) come out with bonus features but never with a commentary before, were any other films released on VHS like this. was this the first film released with a commentary or was it happening already on dvds?
