Facing Legal Litigations ...Do you keep your cool ?

All of a sudden your presence before a judicial body becomes inevitable for no wrong doings on your part . How will you manage things - get depressed over it ...build up enormous tension ...face things in a bold manner...seek proper guidance from friends or relatives. BETTER STILL would you disregard the whole thing and think COME WHAT MAY.

Just the thought of being in court for any reason makes me feel sick. I try not to think about things like that.

I guess when it comes to that stage, the ability to keep calm is a necessity. It is only when one is stress free will one be able to think properly and react appropriately. Likely I will seek professional help. Legal litigations is not child's play and should not be taken lightly. The price to be paid will be much higher if one feigns ignorance.

Hey s794, If I had the law after me I'd turn myself in & deal w/ it innocent or not. If I was just being sued well, you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip so let 'em sue me. +'s |:)

I think I have a bit of a philosophical outlook on things like that and would tend to look at what life lessons this would be teaching me :-)

I will positively seek proper guidance from friends or relatives, especially those who know well about laws. I must defend my right and fame.

It happened to me some years ago. It was due to water filtrations that the owner of a store under my flat said it was my fault. I was sure it wasn't and, besides, the amount of money he demanded was exaggerated. At first I wanted to go to the end of the litigation, as I was sure that reason was on my side. I didn't want to give this man not even a penny. Afterwards I thought that it was better to make an agreement, as my brother was my lawyer and I didn't want to bother him. Besides, it was clear to me that the judge was eager for both parts to arrive to a settlement, as she said she would need the guidance of an architect, whose fees both parts would have to pay. The plaintiff was not in a good disposition to make an agreement, but at last he also accepted. What I paid was only a third of the amount, as the builder and the rest of the apartments' owners paid the other two thirds. I think that what I did then was better than going on to the end of the litigation.

Well, it can be VERY stressful! That's what Lawyers are for - they keep the cool for you. I've been to court a few times. if it's with a magistrate, and there are no lawyers, I just collect documentation and data and let it do the talking for me. If I can bring a lawyer, I give them the documentation and let them do the talking. They are not emotionally involved in the situation, like I am, so they keep their cool much better than me. I do NOT disregard legal proceedings, but I prepare for them heavily so I am not blind sided!

I probably would get stressed and seek legal counsel. Then I wouldn't sleep at night until I got it resolved.

I was sued by a woman. It made me mad because if she had done **1** of the things I told her to do, the problem would have never happened. We ended up on one of the "judge" shows here in the states (tho it hasn't been shown.) The judge agreed that it was on her head that the problem happened & threw the case out. I think they only filmed it because the ONLY thing I asked for was to have the case dismissed with prejudice (that means that she couldn't sue me again.)

Legal matters are all that tension giving and if you get to face it you can't overcome the tension.Recently i saw sanjay dutt,an actor [if you are indian you must be knowing]facing such situation and though he is sush a good actor, tension and nervousness could be easily marked on his face.

It is very stressful to go to court for any reason! I have been to court on different occasions, and it never failed that I would be sick to my stomach from nerves. I did build up enormous tension but I did face things head on, still deep inside I was scared to pieces!

All I can say is, if you haven't done anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about. I know this is easier said then done. It probably would be easy to get upset or sad about it, but if you do allow those emotions then you may make yourself more nervous then you need to be...

I would probably make myself ill with worry lol , It would cost me a fortune in toilet rolls as I would never be out of the toilet , I would know in my head it would be OK as I was innocent though xxx

I would deal with it as best I can. Sometimes talking with those who are chasing you can become quite stressful if they are not willing to hear you out or to come to some agreement.

Well I am facing this right now,I have a SSI hearing for my daughter and to tell the truth I am a wreck, that's why I am still up after midnight and the hearing is at 11:00 a.m. I'm not so much depressed but I am worried,I have an anxiety disorder and I am taking Celexa but I am still having racing thoughts and what not. It is hard facing something like this when you hate speaking in public, but I think when the time comes I will face it head on and have faith I will make it through.

I have never had to face the judicial system I guess I am one of the lucky ones. I have never been arrested or sued and the closet thing to the judicial system I have come to is when I served on a jurgy. I do not know how I would react except be nurvous.
