OOOOHHH I just finished watching this with the kids and I have to tell you WOW what a FANTASITC MOVIE!!! It was REALLY GOOD!! here is the summary from Netflix
"In this modern retelling of Hitchcock's thriller Rear Window, Kale (Shia LaBeouf), a troubled teen sentenced to house arrest, begins watching his neighbors out of boredom -- only to discover evidence that a serial killer lives a stone's throw from his home. As his suspicions of his neighbor (David Morse) grow, Kale enlists the aid of friends Ashley (Sarah Roemer) and Ronnie (Aaron Yoo) in his increasingly dangerous snooping."
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! have any of you seen it? what did you think of it?

I went and saw this with one of my friends a few months ago at the movies (his shout =D) when it first came out in Australia.
I absolutely loved it. I had no idea it was a modern adaptation of Hitchcock, though, although it does explain a lot!
It was such an original story-line, even though the issues are so common in entertainment these days - crime fiction and all.
I actually have to rent it out to watch with my boyfriend... Either that or download it =P
Thanks for reminding me!
Glad you liked it =D

I was actually ver pleasantly surprised by this one. I think it helps that Shia LaBeouf is such a good actor, he really brought a lot to his part. Definitely one of the better thriller/horror type flicks in recent times.

I really enjoyed this movie as well! I was very impressed with Shia LaBeouf - I saw him in "Transformers" this summer as well, and I thought he did a great job with the differences between the characters.
I didn't actually know "Disturbia" was a modern retelling of Hitchcock's "Rear Window," but now that you've mentioned it, it makes sense. I saw "Rear Window" YEARS ago and LOVED it! I highly recommend watching it as well. You'll notice the huge difference between the time periods, though. And Hitchcock's terror can be much more subtle than modern-day Hollywood.

My neighbors are creepy enough without my spying on them! The last thing I need is to watch this then start wondering exactly what is going on behind those closed curtains. On a lighter side of things, have you ever seen The Burbs? It's a little like this but has a lot of humor in it ... and stars Tom Hanks. Check it out for some great laughs.

Oh no! I haven't watched it yet, but it seems pretty good, Id definitely like to see it esspecially now since it has such good reviews and comments. Im a little late with the times, however. I JUST recently watched Premonitions with Sandra Bullock, I thought it was pretty good. Esspecially since I got to see the bloopers, and parts of the story played out in the actual order =]

I have seen the movie Disturbia and I don't think it's than fantastic movie, it's just watchable once.
Shia LaBeouf did a good job in this movie, but I don't think it's a great movie to be appreciated to much ...

I haven't seen it yet but I really wanted to. I think I might get it on DVD. I like how they updated the story and it doesn't look like a cheesy teen movie. Carrie Ann Moss plays the mother doesn't she? They have a lot of good actors in this movie.

Sounds good. I just ordered it as I liked the old one with James Stewart.
