Are celebrities doing enough to support worthy causes?

Seems the only people allowed to complain or voice their opinions publicly about any issue these days, are celebrities, (who have no idea what they are talking about and do not speak for me). For the most part, I think celebrities try to pick a cause that is relevant to them, but some either go way over board in their attempts to make the cause known or just throw money at the problem. And, what's so unfair is that those are the only people whose efforts are being recognized. When the little people sign petitions or attend rallies, or start letter campaigns noone seems to notice. Yet, we are the real power behind change, not celebrities! Then again, there are people who really do go way out of their way to lend a human voice to a cause that would otherwise go unnoticed, like Liz Taylor (with her work during the 1980's to get a still fairly unknown killer illness brought to light) or Angelina Jolie who travels the world on humanitarian missions. She's a self-appointed ambassador who didn't wait for anyone's permission to start caring. And, before her, Audrey Hepburn brought the world's attention to many disadvantaged nations and their people's plight. These celebrities really do set good examples, but most of the others are just looking for free publicity from the TV cameras. That's my opinion anyway. What's yours? Do you find that celebrities really do speak for your political or environmental concerns? Do you think most celebrities really care about the causes they support? Are they using their political or social clout in a responsible manner to bring attention to needed causes? Or, do some celebrities use the attention they get from supporting causes just to get free publicity for an upcoming movie? Can you think of one or two celebrities whose charitable works should receive honorable mention? Please share.

Thats a good question but I dont think they are even though there are a lot that give to chairty and most of them just do it probally for just the attention so the media will reconize them not like they care about the people. But other celebrites do it because they want to help out and could care less about the attention they get but I think celebrites make so much money that they need to be giving some of it to charity.
