Did you have a Viewmaster when you were a kid?

I can still remember the Viewmaster I got when I was a little kid. On the day we got it, I sat on the front seat of our car and clicked through the various images. I can't remember what the pictures were, but the moment is still stuck in my mind. Funny how some memories stick with you years after they happened. Recently, my spouse got a modern day Viewmaster for our little kid. Instead of the traditional red body, our "Viewmaster" is a pretend camera that shows various images from around the world, like the Pyramids and such. Our little kid has a good time flipping through the images as she pretends to take our picture. I guess kids don't change much, even if the times do! So, did you have a Viewmaster toy when you were a kid? What were your favorite images? Would you buy your own child a Viewmaster if they still made them?

I had a viewmaster when I was little. I remember one year for my birthday, my sister picked a Smurfs disc to give me as a present. I was so excited. It was so much fun! My sister just bought one for my son, but he's still kind of young for it. He doesn't really get the point. The one she got has a Sesame Street disc, and I'm sure my little boy will love it when he gets the point of it! The pictures are so much clearer and more detailed now than they were 20 years ago, though!

Yes, I had a Viewmaster when I was small. I loved it and think they're an object which will always fascinate kids. Talking of that, my Grandad used to have a really old fashioned, wooden, 3D slide viewer which fascinated me. I think it was novel because the slides looked nothing without the viewer but when you put them in and viewed them through the special glass parts, they stood right out and looked so real. You're bringing back long gone thoughts of childhood here, my friend. Brightest Blessings.

Yes I did and I loved it- My grandma still has the old fashion one- My daughter loves to look in it still at the age of 10- I think because it’s so old- Boy they were cool- I had numerous slides to put in mine- I don’t know what ever happened to it either- I would not buy one now- My daughter is too old-
