This is the second time this has happened to me in two days. I spend 20 minutes writing a long answer to try to help people with their computer... I click submit... and myLot lose the lot with no ways to recover what I have written. Does this happen to you also?

Sorry to hear it happened...and yes I have had the same thing occur. When it does there is a whole lot of frickin/fracking. What I am doing now that I'm a member of the 500 club I am more inclined to put longer responses in Word...and then cut and paste them in to my discussion or response. I do it so I have an easily accessible file to retreive information if I need it...and to avoid what happened to you...and me before. Great ideas...lost in Mylot Land or Cyberspace...with no way to find it...that really bites!

Yes... this has happened to me in the past. I told myself many times to write it in a text file first... but I come on myLot and I forget about it. Plus I don't like doing it that way... it is just not the same... I'm funny like that (laugh).

Wow...another one...thank you for the best response again. I don't know if you've change your posting style yet. I must admit I haven't...I am risking the fricking fracking loss of content because I am too lazy to do it in Word and cut and paste it into Mylot. Yep, you are right just doesn't feel like regular Mylotting! Raia

That has happened to me only twice, when I have hit the preview response ist..So I have never done it again, I just hit the post response button straight away now..But I dont know if thats related to what you have done.

No... it is not related to the preview response. It was just a fluke that it did happen to you when you were using the preview response.

I find that if I need to respond to something with a long response it is sometimes better to open a 'notepad' and type the response in there, then copy & paste it. It is not cheating because you are only doing the 'copy & paste' with your own work, not taking it from other discussions.

Oh yes. that was when I waas just starting here at my lot. It was like forever that I have been typing on a respond and about forever that it just disappeared, you need to type in again. thanks goodness it never hapened again. I wrote about it to mylot.

Hi there, Aussie...oh, yes this has happened to me, and it does seem to happen with my longer responses..so back to writing it out all over again...but one thing I'm in the habit of doing, especially for my longer responses I want to make...first I either type it out in my word processor, save it, then and copy/paste into the response box, that way if it's lost I least have a copy and can just repaste it....or after I finish typing in the response, highlight and copy...then if it suddenly disappears on me, I still have it to repaste...of course this is only a solution for us folks with over 500 points of course, of which you have

Someone once told me that it can happen if you have too many windows on myLot open at the same time. I had five tabs open related to myLot.

I hope that won't happen to me. Did you asked them what happen? What did they say?

Yes, this sort of thing often happens to me. My computer's connection usually goes down about 5 times a day. It usually happens when I have been typing a long reply to a discussion. When it first did this I lost the discussion I was working on. But now I have learned how to get my connection back up again.

I also hate it when this happens but you at least have the power to prevent it If you type in a Long answer copy it, if it is destroyed because of server problems you can just paste it and try again

I dont think so but some times you never know such things can happen. This happened twice to me but still its fine .

Yes this has happend to me. Sometimes I suppose it is my fault since I see a mistake and habitually hit the back button, and then everything is gone.... It is really bothersome. I wish mylot had a better recovery system...
