Do you feel that it would be worthwhile to learn html, learn to build websites in order to make extra money or to make some money on the Internet. I've always heard that one could not make money with free websites, but I'm changing my thinking toward that. I have found that search engines do find some unlikely sites. Viral marketing does not depend on search engines, and there are several new free marketing tools and services to help you get started without investing in a website. Would information about these encourage you to get started with your own internet business?

Viral marketing does not depend on search engines as you have pointed out very effectively. Therein lies the problem, especially among newbies. There is an asumption on their part that money will automatically role in from the viral marketing without putting forth any effort. Having a "1-2-3 this is how you do it" without a dollar hype would be the most effective in motivating and encouraging someone struggling. Too many are satisfied with pennies without realizing just a little more information (or GOOD information) is available to make their dreams of financial freedom realistic.

You raised some good points. My goal is to address these - even the viral marketing issue. Much of what I've seen people call viral marketing fails to be viral, in my opinion. I will tell much more at my website, because of cut and paste abilities and freedom of expression.
Though no money can be made without sales, I believe hype and cost have stopped more than a few people. It has stopped me - many times.
Multi-level marketing once was viral. I will explain this and why I feel mlm is no longer a viral opportunity or, really, never was.
Once you could get emails from gurus that were informative. Most, now, seem to be simply sales letters with no apparent benefit. I run out of time for those.
I believe I can help others while helping myself. Let's see if that is viral. If that won't work, then let's turn the computers off.
I see products touted to be viral, that, in my opinion, are not. There are better ways.
I'll try to show you. It won't be effortless and it won't be overnight.
