In my island a big festival every year is celebrated in silence. It is called Silence day. People are not allowed to go outside their residence for 24 hours, not allowed to make any noisy sound for 24 hours, no car, no polution, no electricity even the airport is closed. People are encouraged to be silence on this day and evaluate about their life. Actually this is a celebration for balinese new year, we celebrate it in silence...

That's really an information of interest about this kind of a celebration. Silence to evaluate life!!. I have read a lot about Bali island and I have read that the geography and life of Bali is exactly as my place (Kerala, the southern most state of India). But I wonder how I missed about this new year festival. Could you tell me in which month/date it is celebrated. I would also like to know other than keeping silence, what all are there in the celebration. Thanks a zillion for this new information.

I once heard a phrase which said, how can you hear god if you are always talking. I myself mostley talk on a need to know basis. I do not belive in wasted words.
