Rocky road apples

The best caramel apples I've ever had wre the "rocky road" type. They're covered in caramel, chocolate, nuts and marshmallows. Mmm...I got one in a candy shop in Monterey. It was almost $6, but definitely worth it. I want to find a candy shop closer to home so I can stock up on some, as well as try other kinds. Anyone recommend any?

That sounds really good! If you have a Super Target near you, in October they carry great candy apples, they have some that are dipped in different kinds of chocolate with different nuts... sooooooooo good! They only make them in October for Halloween but are my total addiction and worth the wait.

Hm...I'm not sure if the one near me is a "Super Target"...there is a small food section, so I'll check there. Do you know if the Super Walmarts carry them, too?

No it's something that target makes themselves and sells only at their stores. They might have it at the regular Targets. Walmart makes their own as well during the holidays but I don't reccomend them, I bought one and it was a total waste, it was gross. They don't use quality ingredents like Target does.

wow that sounds good. the only candy apples ive ever had have been the plain caramel or the red "candy" ones. but after hearing about your rocky road version i did a search online..and look what i found!! http://www.amyscandykitchen.com/ (they have LOTS of varieties!) http://www.richlandgourmetapples.com/ http://www.gourmetcandyapples.com/skins/custom1/Homepage2.aspx?elid=17 I must say that they almost look too good to eat...yeah right! lol..a bit pricey, but omg i bet they are worth it! bummer i have to wait until winter..the chocolate wont survive shipping to my home this time of year!

QVC sells some too, they do look yummy don't they? They can be pretty expensive when you buy them online but usually are of far better quality than the ones you get at a store and are made with gourmet quality ingredients. A friend bought the QVC ones, $50 for 4 apples, but they were soooooooo good. You can slice them up like we did and serve them as desserts at a get together or dinner party, a big hit!
