Did Britney Spears start a bald trend or are some people just copycats?

Not too long ago Britney Spears made headlines for her head shaving - she went into a salon and sheared her locks by herself, leaving her bald. The reason for this impulsive act is still unknown, although theories abound. Recently, the actress Mena Suvari also shaved her head. Is this going to be a new trend for women? Does anyone think that a large percentage of women would consider shaving their heads? Most people think that Britney's balding was a pretty stupid and attention-getting thing to do, but which is worse, doing something stupid or copying a stupid thing someone else did?

Hmm, you have proposed a conundrum here Rollo. One might propose the thought that the person who did the stupid thing was at least original. However if it was a really really senseless thing then would that really matter? Perhaps Britney's actions were intended to be hair raising. Sadly, those who are more famous for being famous rather than for their talents don't seem to realize that they often raise heckles instead. Those who are imitative seem not to be aware that the prototype is already faulty and should have been sent back to the factory so the design could be 'fixed'. So I have to say that copying something stupid someone else does is worse. Because they are acting blindly and using no judgement whatsoever. Glenni

I would say, of course it matters if you are really senseless but original! Monty Python was really really senseless - but original!! That of course, is not the point. Although one may quote their skits, no one is actually behaving like a character in a sketch.

I don't think anyone would copy Britney Spears for the sake of copying her!

I hope that they wouldn't agnescav, but you never know. People do get very wrapped up in the lives of celebrities and want to emulate them.
