Do you purchase your fabric online?

Four years ago, when I last redecorated our home, I went to a local shop and purchased all the fabric for ulpholstery projects and such. It was lots of fun and cheaper than buying new furniture. Well, now it's redecorating time again. Simple daily cleaning can only do so much to make my home look better. Time to get some new home style! And, I've been thinking about recovering our couches and such with new ulpholstery, but I just don't have the time to go out for an extended shopping trip. So, I'm thinking of buying the fabrics online. Does anyone know a really good site online that sells ulpholstery fabric and supplies? Have you ever purchased fabrics online? Were you pleased with the results compared to local retail shops? Would appreciate some suggestions. Thanks!
