My son is so sad today his g/f broke up with him yesterday and he is having a hard day today. This was his first real g/f and she is such a nice girl but I think it was too much for them right now cause they are too young for a steady relationship he they are only 14 so I am sad for him but relived a bit too. I think he needs to see friends more and worry about dating when he is a bit older. They did break up on good terms though she says she really liked him but it was to much to fast so they are only friends now. Kurt is sad though. so his friend called him(one he has not seen to much of this summer with Kurtis seeing Erin all the time) and asked him to come to his cottage for a week so he left about 1/2 hour ago still sad but looking forward to a week of water skiing and tubing. Hopefully he comes back not so sad. Poor guy

Why would you even let your 14 year old to have a steady girlfriend? Or for that matter, encourage it, which you seem to have done? I can't figure out why parents are pushing their children to grow up so quickly these days.

I did not encourge it or push it I always said they were too young but I don't know what planet your on but kids are more grown up these days than they need to be. I am not going to follow him every where he goes and tell him what to do he is getting to the age that he needs to make his own choices how else will he learn. They did learn they realized they were to young something i said all along but they now know this for themselves they found this out on there own. So i would say it was a good learning experience for them

This is always sad, especially the first time for young people. I felt bad when my son broke up with his girlfriend, a couple years ago. They were only 13. I felt worse for the girl though, because my son actually asked his friend to tell her that he was breaking up with her. What a rat! As a woman, I didn't approve of that at all and my son found that out without any question. He hasn't really had a girlfriend since then, but I think there is a young lady at church who is kind of waiting in the wings for him, and he seems to like her.
