A little boy goes to his father and asks "Daddy, how was I born?"
The father answers: "Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: "YOU'VE GOT MALE!"
______
Well that's one way to explain it! Do you find yourself speaking computer-eez to people who don't have a computer and they look at you funny, like you're speaking a foreign language?

Mine did! My husband and I met on the internet, it's been 8 1/2 yrs and we're very happy. No delayed pop-ups though! LOL

Great joke. We haven't been getting too many jokes lately. I kind of miss them. I like the one where the little boy came home from school and ask his Dad "What is $ex?" His father sighed and proceeded to explain the birds and the bees. At the boy's puzzled look, the Dad asked "Did I answer your question?"
"I don't know. I had to fill out this paper and it asked me what $ex I am."
No I don't speak computer-eez, because I don't understand it half the time anyway!

...and yeah, I do confuse a lot of people sometimes speaking computerese, lol.
Oh! Speaking of "lol" I was the only one that understood the kids at the restaurant where I used to work, hahahaha.
Freaked a couple of them once when they were speaking computerese when I told them I was "ROTFLMFAO" hahahaha.

That's great. Computer speak and text speak are getting so popular it's going to become a part of the language pretty soon. Better to learn it now than always walking around with a perplexed and confused look on your face! LOL

Oh that's hilarious...I'll have to print that up and send to my friend in CA--alas she has no computer...And yes, I've had my own experience...one time I was talking to a friend of mine about my mother who was still alive at the time I was mentioning how my mother had "lost" her job that she had had been at for something like 22 years...I said, "Oh yes, my mom was downloaded from her job" I meant down-sized! LOL

I catch myself doing the same thing all the time. I'll say something in computer-eez and wonder why I'm getting funny looks. It's become such a huge part of our vocabulary the last couple of years, it's hard to fathom that there are a whole lot of other people out there who still don't own a computer and have no clue what you're saying.

The people I talk to are about 50/50. I do have a nasty habit of overlapping to the 50% who don't and I get those looks like.... aw you're doing it again.
