Hi all, I'm rather new here and opinions on this. I was thing of just disconecting the home phone and using cell phones exclusively. It would save about $40 a month. Has anyone ever done this? Good? Bad? Thanx!

My husband and I ditched our landline and only have cell phones, and it works out well most of the time. However, recently we had a bit of a problem with our cell phone reception, and since we're both with the same company, we were completely phoneless for a while. Which was not good. So now I kind of wish we had kept a landline, just for emergencies, or had cell phones on different systems or something.

Thanks! I wonder if the phone company has a plan where you can have 911 service only?

I was thinking of the landline service, with only 911 and nothing else. I would pay 5 bucks a month or so for that!
