Hi there :), i believe the best breed of dog really depends on the type of person you are and what you want from your dog ie. If you want a guard dog then some dog species have built in guarding abbilities- Not even abbilities really its more deeper than that its like when you feel hungry you 'feel the need to eat', well for example, guard dogs, 'feel the need' to guard its already built in. where as something like a terrier loves to dig, and terriers were bred for digging out foxes and things like that. Also there are more affectionate dogs which are better to have around children, where as some dogs can get really ratty with a new arrival. So it all depends what you want or don't want from your dog. Well that is what i think anyway. I like big dogs myself, like German shepards and leodberger mastiffs, lovely! :D

I have two kids so I would prefer cocker spaniels. Cocker spaniels have a good temperament around children. They will play and not be too rough. They are a hunting breed so they like activity and running. They are an indoor/outdoor dog and can adjust easily to their surroundings.

Different breeds are suited for different people. But I love Doberman's, I have owned them more many years, they are beautiful, intelligent, loyal, affectionate and funny..

Well, I'd have to go with the Alaskan Malamute, of course:-)They're smart and affectionate, but rather large and furry.
