English is our second language; it is next to our dialects. Wherever we are english is always use. If we are foriegn to such country and in case we don't know how to speak their dialects so english could help us a lot to understand others. If we don't know how to speak english, like for example if we lost in some place and need to ask somebody and if we can't present the question clearly for asking the right way we can be lost forever.! So, learning english is very important.

English is chosen as Universal language for us to have no confusions on other languages. For the fact that there are many languages exists and practiced but the majority choose english so that everybody may have an easy way to understand each other. It doesn't mean that you have to speak english if you are talking with your same race or if you do have the same language. English is Universal and we can use it everywhere for us to be understood by others who don't know how to speak our language too. So instead of our native language, we may use english coz we are also aware the fact that they are also learning that language for them to be understood too. Hope I got it right for you buddy. LOL :)

We treat the English language as one of the best legacy Americans had left in the Philippines after Education. Because of the major impact of the Americans in our systems, we have all our government and private offices communication functions using the English language. English language is part of the Filipino identity. It has been part of the Education curriculum since pre-school and until you graduate from any baccalaureate degree. Learning English ahead of our Asian brothers makes the Philippines now one of the most attractive outsourcing hub in the world employing around 2-3 million Filipinos aside from the other 7 million Overseas Filipino Workers. In reference to our national statistics, almost 7 out of 10 Filipino's can speak English. Basically, for Filipino's speaking English is a part of life... a part of culture within us that makes us truly US.

My parents taught me English when I was young because they said it was an important language. I also liked reading English books more than books in other languages, so I ended up learning a lot of English from books. English lessons are mandatory in primary and secondary schools anyway, so I couldn't drop it even if I wanted to.

Hi there. Two generations before me, our cutrual language was caned out of my grandparents as children, and they were forced to learn english, one word spoken from there own language and they got the cane, so when they had children they also encouraged there children to speak english, for fear of what happened to them in the past, thats where most of our own language has lasped in my parents generation, now it comes down to us and we have so many options now days, to learn our own language, and now I find my grandparents openly speak our language like they should've done back in there day... Our language is not lost, but the english language dominates languages in varied places... I encourage my culture to speak there native tongue, as much as they can... The english language, is globally spoken in the major countries as well....
