Food for a picky toddler

My daughter is 19 months old and I'm having a hard time getting her to eat anything. What she likes one day, she doesn't like the next. Yesterday she didn't eat lunch, and she would barely touch her dinner. All that she wanted to eat was crackers. I worry that she's not eating enough, or enough of the right things. I've tried pretty much everything that I can think of. Giving her a variety of foods to choose from, letting her feed herself...I've gone as far as to put her highchair infront of the tv so that I could distract her into eating. No such luck! (just as well though) For other moms with picky toddlers, how do you get them to eat? What are some healthy foods that they'll actually eat on a regular basis?

This is a problem worldwide. This is the time when we as parents should have patience. I too faced the same problem. My kid not eating would bother me too. Try making her eat with playing. I remember playing hide and seek with my daughter and I used to feed her a mossle everytime she finds me. This is a growing phase and this phase will soon pass over. U can start with varirty of fruits.

I have a toddler as well. he is super picky when it comes to eating. I talked with the doctor and he assured me that this is very common with toddlers. he told me they are gonna be picky and some times they just might not want to eat.. he said if there is ANYTHING that they do want, just give it to them. even if it isnt really the healthiest thing.. like a little snack or something, just let them eat it.. my son HATES milk, and the doc said to make sure he gets in his dairy, try to feed him things like yogurt and ice cream and stuff.. I mean its not like real food, but at least it is something.. as long as they eat something they will be fine.. and one or two meals missed isnt so bad, kids are just like that sometimes.. some days they eat like crazy and some days not at all..

Our family doctor used to tell us that kids go through phases. Sometimes they will eat and eat and eat, and other times they will barely touch their food. It is part of their growing phases. They will eat when they are hungry. Also they can snack all day and that will be enough for them. Their stomachs are ten times smaller than ours and fill up fast. So eating small meals or snacks frequently or not so frequently, will still be enough. Just keep trying. If she starts to lose wieght then you should really worry. But try to be patient and just keep trying. I think it is the best we parents can do.
