wow... that's what crossed my mind when i know that even snape has some affection for harry. i even read the sentence twice to make sure that it's snape's words. IT IS snape's words, isn't? what do you think about this? after all these years jk. rowling describes him like that.

Er, I thought Dumbledore asked if Snape'd come to like Harry after all, and that Snape's answer was basically "are you kidding me? I'm only doing this because I never stopped loving Lily, and even I think her son's an annoying brat, I couldn't just let him die because she wouldn't have wanted that."

at first he denied it. but when their discussion came to the point that dumbledore was saying that harry had to die, snape kinda objected with it. and dumbledore said like could it be that snape had grown some affection for harry? snape didnt admit it but he didnt deny it either. and silence almost always means yes right? ^__^

yes, before that conversation between dumbledore-snape, i thought that was snape's motivation. so, i kind of shock with that. i mean, who would actually like our kid's biggest rival anyway. but, i think snape really have some feeling to harry.

i was also surprised when i read that part. when dumbledore asked him that all those years, he had developed a certain affection for harry. before reading the book, my friend told me that snape wasnt a bad guy. i couldnt believe it until i finally read the book. and when i learned the truth, i learned to like snape too just as he learned to like harry. ^__^ maybe because it was harry's eyes that were so much like lily's that made snape like harry. or maybe snape found something in harry that was so much like him. we couldnt really know the truth because he never explained to dumbledore. but he was crying then wasnt he?? ^__^

No, Snape had no affection for Harry, only for the living memory of Lily, that he could see in her son. Mainly though Harry reminded him of James, and as a consequence he hated him.

yup Snape liked Harry because he was Lily's son but disliked him more as he was James' son
