Was it right on part of dravid not to give follow on?What do you think?Doesn't it show the defensive mindset of Dravid? All through the match India was in commanding position but the result is tame draw.I don't think it was correct. Its my opinion, there must be some genuine reson. But what do you think?

i am strongly against the dravid decision of not giving the follow on. India is in commanding position and could win the match, if they had given them follow on. The players were on high spirits and position was very much clear. When u know that u r going to win, the tiredness automatically goes away. every decision should be practical and wisely done. that all i can say

I agree that follow on should have been allowed. The way the wickets fell in Indian second innings and the manner the scorecard read showed a clear defensive strategy. But again if england had followed on overtaken India's score and perhaps with a lead of around 100 at the end of fifth day.. Wickets falling for India..Atleast the chances of losing would not have been that remote if they played like how dravid played in the second innings..

Thanks you asked it.. It was one of most dumb decisions, I've seen in a while..Very very difficult to understand what was goin' thro' the Rahul's mind..there was an excellent chance to go 2-0 up in the series and win it handsomely.. The bowlers were still fresh & with overcast conditions, India could have clinched it by 5th day morning.. Rahul Dravid may be the best player technically, but turning out to be a dumb duck when it comes to captaincy.. Mike

According to me it was right to give a follow on because in the fourth inning the pitch was in a really bad condition and Indian players would have faced a real lot of problems.

I think it was right for a couple of reasons: 1. Bowlers must have been tired, and so no point over exerting as India has a long season ahead. 2. The pitch was not yet doing too great for Kumble, so hoping for a better bowler friendly pitch on the last day was also right. It's just that England played really well in the 2nd innings which makes the decision look bad in the hindsight. Also, the pitch did not go bad as it might have on the 5th day.

I don't think bowlers were tired.bowlers like zaheer was in favour of follow on.

No it was not at all right not to give follow on. India was leading by abou 320 runs....it was mweaningless for india to bat before england again. Even if India was to bat dravid should have made Dhoni bat in 1st down positn sothat india gets run quickly and declare. But Dravid as we all know has a stupid defensiveness

It is the fear that England might go on bat and put India into batting last, where the pitch might turn and eventually India might get defeated. He can afford not to give follow on to England because already India was 1 up. Also may be pundits there must have suggested him this theory.

Hey friend , nowadays don't have that much time to see the matches and that too test, not at all, so i am sorry that i can't say whether he was right or wrong. But whenever anyone asks me anything about cricket,i remember the days of my youth when we were in college and at that time there was so much craze of cricket that we used to bunk our periods and go to the nearest friend's house to see atleast some overs.
