Do you ever look back at old crushes, be it celebrity or school yard, and wonder what the heck you were thinking? I do all the time. I look at some dude I had a huge crush on back in middle schoo and I'm like, yeah he wasn't that cute. I wonder what he looks like today? Or I look back at celebrities that I loved. Like Donnie Wahlberg of New Kids on the Block! Man. I loved him. Biggest Crush. I look at him now and I'm like...what was I thinking! What about you? *totally spawned from flight84's crush post :p

Ralph Macchio - Ralph Macchio the 80's star whom played in The Karate Kid movies, The Outsiders, My Cousin Vinny, among others.
LOL - there is one crush/ boyfriend I had that I have no idea what I was thinking. At least the way he looked. He ended up being one of my best friends for a couple of years. Most of my other crushes/ boyfriends were good looking and to my knowledge still look at the very least decent. The longest crush I had though...he doesn't look so great these days. Kind of glad that one never panned out. Though after I met and fell in love with my now hubby the ex-crush wanted to date LOL. My 10 year high school reunion is next year so we'll see then on the others LOL. As far as celebrity crushes...Michael Jackson was my biggest WTF. And that's because of the way he turned out! Jeez...what a train wreck. My other major crushes were Brad Pitt (still hot!), Kirk Cameron (still good looking), Joey McIntyre (still good looking), Neil Patrick Harris (gay - but still smokin' hot!), and Ralph Macchio (good looking then but looks have faded now). Some of my minor crushes was Corey Feldman (still good looking), Patrick Swayze, John Travolta, Elijah Wood, John Stamos, Bon Jovi, Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Fred Savage, Michael J. Fox, and Johnny Depp. Most of those guys are still quite handsome. I think that's really about it...that I can think of anyway. Michael Jackson was my first crush. I told my mom I wanted to marry him. I was like 5 or 6 at the time LOL. The funny thing is my parents are a bit racist when it comes to men of color and their daughters. Therefore I am sure that was a major shock and should have been an indication of things to come. Though in the small area we lived in there wasn't a lot of racial diversity. So I guess they were not too worried LOL. For an added funny - my sister crushed on Danny Wood! UGH! I could not for the life of me figure out why! He was the ugliest of the bunch! Most everyone I knew crushed on Jordan Knight. Not me...I loved Joey! Donny wasn't too ugly...still isn't. But his younger brother is hotter LOL.

Ha ha. I'm glad that most of your celebrity crushes are still hot... and it worked out with your now hubby and not any of those not so great old crushes! though it's nice that you crushed on people who weren't so great looking, because it is about the personality (but a nice face is so important!). Oh man, Danny Wood was the worst! He looked like a Monkey. I hope your sisters taste got better! that's the kind of crush I'd look back at and be embarassed!

LOL...I really think that about celebrity crushes I had! I do think that about some of my school crushes, most of them turned out to be complete losers. Ha Ha! I just saw your shout out!!!:P It's okay...you totally encouraged my haunted nursing home discussion too. Great minds think alike is all...

LOL! Maybe he was. We started dating when I was 13. I hadn't been chasing after him though. I had a boyfriend when I found out he liked me and I honestly hadn't been all that interested in him. He seemed a lot more conservative than me. I think I've corrupted him now!:P

Corruption is always the best. YOu know, I've never liked guys like me. Like, I'm not into the guys who are all "punk rock" Or whatever like me. I mean, obviously liking good music and having similarities is crucial but I always like people who are a lot more different then me. Maybe that's why I'm single :p

I think we all do that. I am 50 and have looked back on several occasions and scratched my head. But, remember, those crushes and relationships made us who we are today.

Very true. I'd probably never have a soft spot for boy bands if it wasn't for my love of Donnie Wahlberg and New Kids on the Block :)

Well I think you're allowed to have crushes on celebrities whether you are married or not. It's not like you're gonna get them. You know? But do you ever look back on OLD crushes, as in before you were married, and wonder what you were thinking?

I dated a guy for four years in high school. He dumped me for my best friend. Now I look at the pair of them, stuck someplace between high school and never growing up and think, what the heck did I let it bother me for!

I know right! Well, I mean I can see how that would be a bother, but it's totally like that. I work with my ex and I'd known him 4 years before we dated... and now that we're broken up after we dated I'm like, why? Why did we go out? Why was I upset we broke up? He dumped me for another co-worker. they broke up too. he's pretty idiotic in more ways than one and i'm better off. how come I didn't know that 4 years before? why'd i have to date him to realize that!? crazy. But I guess that's why we live and learn. right?

ROFL! I just wonder how one can have such serious crushes on CELEBRITIES!! I'll never ever have a crush on someone who my conscience knows that can never be mine. It can be a celebrity or any ordinary committed person, if i've no chance, she will not be my crush. As you, i too look back at my old crushes, especially when i'm feeling low and also whenever i feel life's too boring. It can inspire us and also its a good reason to recall our childhood memories.

Well that's good that you don't crush on unlikely candidates. However, seeing as Crushes are healthy, even if it's just a "man that guy is hot" or "that girl is totally beautiful" and you never even talk to this person or anything be it a waitress at a restaurant or someone you pass on the street or a celebrity, it's actually a NORMAL part of life. When you actually dream about having these people, especially celebrities, that's when you have an unhealthy problem. A crush isn't love or even always wanting to date someone. A crush is finding someone attractive. I guarantee more people have had crushes on celebrities than not and I guess that makes you a special character to never have. I don't look back at old flames when I'm bored or lonely, it's just something that happens. and it doesn't really inspire me either, makes me glad my taste is better maybe.

To experience the feeling of infatuation, you need to go into dreams. Your definition of a crush seems nothing different from watching a flower exhibition, we find all the flowers attractive while looking at, but we never dream or fantasize about them, we just would forget everything by the time we reach home. If your definition of a crush was true, there would not have been so many instances of crushes blossoming into true love in this world. Agree? And that's right, i'm a special character, but not in a sense as told by you:p

Yeah, I look back at them and think why things didn't go well.. But, quickly brush off the thought since it won't do good to ponder on things that can't be changed. But its different when you actually see them after a long time. It gets me thinking again but I know it'll pass. Its just that seeing them again is more potent than recalling them from memory. I really don't know though.
