Amazing swimming babies!

I just watched the most awesome video that shows first an infant, and then a toddler in a pool fully clothed and able to float or swim. The caption at the bottom of the video player is a very apt one...."It looks like the YMCA baby swimming courses really work!" Check it out....you'll be pleasantly surprised! Enjoy! http://insanepictures.com/vid.shtml?0359.htm

I was hoping that if anything went wrong, that camera person would jump in if necessary! Made me a bit nervous too.

Great video although I don't know how I would feel about teaching babies and toddlers to swim on their own. I think personally I'd still worry about them drowning and if I had little ones I'd probably still make sure there was some kind of fence around the pool. I guess if you can teach them...go ahead. But I'd still probably take precautions. AT PEACE WITHIN

I definitely wouldn't be letting them go out to a pool alone either. The fence is the best idea to keep them safe. But I think having the swimming lessons heightens the safety measure somewhat as well. Thank you so much hon.

I felt the same way. I was mentally trying to push the camera person into the pool to rescue him.

At first I thought it was digitally remastered because the sound seemed to be separate from the video. But I don't see how it could be since at the end of the pool scene, it was pretty obvious that baby was floating by himself. That's a really cool thing. I don't know how to swim, and I'd love to be able to give any future children I have that kind of advantage.

I kinda thought the same thing about it being digitally remastered too. When I realized it wasn't it scared me a little. I taught my kids to swim a long time ago, and they have also had professional swimming lessons. I just wanted to make sure that they could stay safe in the water. It's an awesome gift to be able to swim. You can actually take lessons at a local YWCA or even some fitness centers have that option as well. If you ever get the chance to learn, please do so. It's very much worth it hon.

OMG!! My heart stopped beating as soon as that baby came out of the house..I was so scared for the little one...The baby sure was a trooper and I just wanted to cry when he/she was calling out for mommy, and just knowing he/she could have drown and babies do drown all the time...I still can't feel my heart beating and I am not breathing....Don't ever scare me like this again?...breath of fresh air....heart is back, thump, thump. Okay....thank you for sharing this, it is extremely important for parents to get this lessons taught to their children...

I had to go and take my aggressions out on watering the yard, my heart was racing so fast. But how cool that the parents had lessons given so that their baby wouldn't drown. I think all parents should invest in those swimming lessons.

It is really cool. It is the best gift that a parent can give their little one. I just wanted to jump in the pool and rescue the baby..
