I just heard on the evening news that this company is buying up all cell phone numbers and selling them at $15 a pop. They come complete with your private info such as your address. This seems like it violates your privacy to me, but it's up and running. They claim they have 7,00 available now and will soon double that amount. If you are a cell phone user, how do you feel about this? They simply buy your number from someone that you have given it to.

They are selling them to anyone who has the $15 to buy them, gabs. I think it is shameful. Nothing is sacred anymore.

That's pretty bad. I mean, what are they doing with the numbers? Are they calling you and trying to sell you stuff? I guess they're not thinking that they're eating up your cell phone minutes with that kind of thing. Apparently, something like this has already happened to me because I receive these text messages from loan companies and that sort of thing. They always provide a message that says "if you want to stop receiving these messages, please reply with delete".

Your right!! This seems like definate privacy violations. I've also seen online where you can use various white pages to look up addresses and phone numbers of ppl you want to look for. My Dad's name, address and phone number is on there and when I told him (he isn't even online and doesn't own a pc) he was furious. AT PEACE WITHIN
