i do catch myself sometimes. and i remember during younger times i talked to my self quite a lot! kids do that most often too like they do these dialogues with themselves with all their fantasies. i want to know if this is still normal for grown-ups to do even for some of the times when especially when you're alone trying to dramatize or act out a situation, etc... do you still do out of the blue, consciously or subconsciously and being aware of it after?

Hi, yes this is quite a common thing to happen even to adults, though when we are young, its a child play kind of act that kids love to do, when they dont have anyone else tp play with them and they are fantasiesing that there is some second or third person around, then they talk to themselevs and alsp for the other person, and thats rather interesting to see. We adults too at times tend to talk to ourseleves, some talk aloud and some speak to themselves but dont say it loud, they talk in their own mind, but we all do talk to ourseleves in either of the forms, this happens as we are explaining or discussing and evaluating a particular situation and how and what wed react to it, when we dont have anyone else around, we do this in a quiet area or place. Yes, we are very aware of it too there after.

I talk to myself. Not as much now as I used to. I really talked to myself a lot when I was taking classes at the university. When I did my papers, I liked to read them out loud to myself to see how it sounded and it helped me re-write and make it sound better. I practiced my oral reports out loud too. Now I do also talk to myself when I am doing certain tasks, usually working. I find that I have a lot to say and that my jokes are pretty funny. So myself finds myself pretty darn interesting and funny too!! :-)

i talk to myself a lot of times. LOL honestly, i do. like, when i cant decide on what to buy, i would tell myself, hurry up, decide now! or like, which would you buy? which do you really need? but of course, i make sure nobody can here me. LOL or when im thinking stupid things and crazy things, i would scold myself aloud saying, stop thinking like that, things are like that you cant do anything about it.. blah blah blah... especially when im in the bathroom, i would talk to myself mostly scolding myself. LOL

Yes, sometimes, when talking in a group and thinking that they were listening, I ended up talking to myself instead. I did this when I was younger and even sometimes now that I have already grown up, I stilldo that, most of the time when watching movies or watching tv, I laugh alone cry alone and when it gets corby I would talk to myself about it.

I talk to myself quite frequently actually. I don't think that means you're crazy or anything. I talk to myself mostly when I'm trying to sleep because it's at night when I think about things. I guess it helps me feel like I'm not alone and I have somebody to talk to when I need to talk the most. That may seem kind of strange, but it helps a lot!

I like to call it thinking out loud, then I don't feel so silly doing it. I know they say it leads to madness but I think we all do it every now and then.

I talk to myself often, It's just a habit I have when I'm busy or especially when I'm trying to remember something. A lot of times I don't even care, I'm usually at work and don't care what others think about me.

I talk to myself all the time. I used to when I was a kid and I still do to this day. I don't know why people associate that with being a little "loony". I think it's perfectly normal. When something's in your head it doesn't make that much sense, but when you say it out loud, it puts things in a whole new perspective. A person who talks to themselves can never be bored since they enjoy their own conversation. I don't know why people get embarrassed by it. I admit, when I was younger, and one of my sisters would catch me talking to myself, I would get terribly embarrassed, but now I don't. Of course that doesn't mean that I am walking on the street by myself talking to myself, I refrain from doing that when I'm out and about. But when I'm alone in a room or in the bathroom, I do talk to myself, and I don't think there's anything weird about that. I do think I do it both consciously and subconsciously. I think most people don't admit it, but everyone talks to themselves some time or the other. I think your thoughts can seem more clearer when you put them in words and listen to them.

I talk to myself quite a lot. I've been doing it since I was little. I was an only child. It's normal to talk to yourself. Who doesn't? Now...if you start answering yourself, then you're in trouble. lol.

I do. I'm a writer and I'm always coming up with stories and scenarios in my head and sometimes say something out loud. Also, I now have a baby and I keep a running dialogue with him, what we're doing, what we're going to do, what objects are, what others in the room are doing. So I find myself saying things aloud a lot more - even when my husband is holding him - in another room!

i've always been doing this since i was a kid. i like to fancy that there's someone talking to me,say, a friend of mine or an aqaitance. sometimes i'll also concive a situation in which i'm asked a question and then answer it. i do think talking to myself is absolutely normal and necessary.

I often talk to myself, especially while I am driving. I don't worry abut it - I know I'm doing it, I am just thinking out loud or reminding myself to do something, and saying it out loud helps me remember.

I always do. And I've noticed that I do that when there is something I want to say but I can't really say it. I guess it has become a habit of mine and ironically, I like talking to myself except when like sometimes when I'm walking alone and I subconsciously talk with myself and I get this look from other people, man, it's shameful. I just hope they won't think of me crazy.
