Would you watch someone have a baby? IF its your wife are you afraid it may change how you feel about her to see this?

My adult daughter wanted me to be there in the hospital room with her when she had all three of her sons. I was there for the first one for the whole time. It as a good thing too because she started having heart trouble and became out of her head from the medications that the nurse gave her and I was the only one there and I noticed it and called for the nurse and doctors and they rushed in and saved her and the baby. So for the second baby, I was understandably reluctant to go through that again and I tried to get out of it. I was there for most of it but had just left and then she had the baby, thank goodness! Then for the third baby, someone had to stay home and babysit the other two boys. That was ME, thank goodness! I love my daughter so much but seeing her in pain like that is a nightmare. I could barely handle it. But if she wants me there, I would have been there for her [reluctantly].

You know I actually turned down the offer of a mirror for my son's birth?

I am from India. This system is i.e. watching a baby delivered by wife, is available in some of the coutnries, while it is not prevalent here in India. Yet, I have closely watch and observed my wife's pain, till the time of deliver, when she was about to deliver our son. I was horrified to see labour pains and perhaps had it been me...I would not have able to sustain.

Yuck Yuck yuck i saw my granddaughter being born. Really They didn't put a blanket over my daughter or anything. it was gross. i wasn't there because i wanted to be. I was there because her husband couldn't be. I don't know why anyone thought I wanted to see that.

My friend requested to be there. Since I had been given pitocin and after two days of labour requested an epidural they each held a leg! They chose to be there and to look as he was emerging - I refused the mirror I didn't want to see all that stuff - I hear all kinds of thing happen!

Wow five times. I almost lost him his heart rate dropped and they almost had to an ER C-section I don't want to go thru that again. I have to be here for him - if something happens to me in childbirth - I think I'll adopt!
