Has anyone here had laporoscopic surgery? What can I expect?

In October, I'm (finally!) having my uterus ablated (cauterized to stop heavy bleeding) and my tubes tied. The doctor is going to make the incision through my belly. I'm just wondering what type of pain I can expect afterward, how long I'm going to be off my feet while I recover, and if anyone has any tips that will help. Besides having my tonsils out when I was 10, this is my first major surgery.

I think that what I had when they remove my gold bladder. just small incision on your belly, but there are couple of it. Actually the pain itself not that bad, but like other surgery if it's near your stomach area, will cause a lot of gas. And that Gas pain really made me uncomfortable.

My mom had gall bladder surgery too, and the gas comes from them injecting air into the belly to help them get at the area they need to work in, I think. I'm pretty sure that they'll do that to me too. You're right. That part is painful.

I had the surgery a few days ago, and you were right; the gas part is the worst of it, for the most part. Two days later, I still feel really uncomfortable and bloated and it keeps sneaking up into my shoulder blades and my rib cage. I hope it dissipates soon!
