Computer and hardware upgrades, how to keep updated?

In a fast lane of keeping up with technology, I find that about a month later my computer starts to be out of date. there are certain programs my hardware just can't handle. I wonder how do you chose what to update when surfing the net? Where do you keep posted?

yeah i too feel the same way....my computer was bought about 3 years ago and now it seems as if my computer is and antique piece of technology...
i am also looking to buy a new one instead of just hardware upgrades as such things can lead to one component being bottlenecked by another....
and this is especially true in the case of graphic cards....
