Are you closer to your mom or dad?

I am wondering if a daughter is usually close to her dad cause i am, and if its a son it's usually close to his mom. Well, maybe it depends on the family also, situations can affect this like if you only have one parent so of course you'll only be close to one. Anyway, i just want to know how many people are closer to their dad or mom. Actually, i'm the only daughter and i'm the closest to my dad but i can understand that because i don't have a mom anymore. see, it also depends on the situation, i just can't confirm if it's really that if you have a son its more closer to the mom and if you have a daughter it tends to be closer to the dad. hhmm.. tell me your opinion.

I'm very close to my mom, not so much my dad because of things he has done in the past, but I do try to talk to him.

I have absolutely NO relationship with my dad. He is a terrible man. I am really close to my mama though. She has been strong enough to be both parents for my sister and I over the years. My sister doesn't have anything to do with our father either, if he is even worth being called a father. My mom is wonderful though.
