My Youngest Daughter

I give thanks every day for my youngest child. I had considered giving her up for adoption before she was born, but changed my mind. She is a great source of strength to me now that I'm older. She calls me several times each day. She comes to visit and spends the occasional night just to hang out with me. On a day like today I especially appreciate her. She came over and cleaned my bedroom and changed evrything the way I wanted it. Then she vacuumed all through my apartment and mopped my kitchen and bathroom floors. These are things she never minds doing for me without my asking. That is why I always try to go that extra mile for her.

My other children don't live so far away but they don't visit often anymore, gabs. My youngest gets angry about this, but I tell her not to worry about the rest. I raised them all the same way and we used to be a very close family. I don't know what's changed but I keep hoping and praying.

The love between mother and child is a brilliant thing my friend , I have 2 older sons married and one still lives with me , He has applied for a home of his own , my world will be so empty without him xx

I am sure you will miss him very much, weemam. There is an old saying that we should raise them up, then give them wings. I know I hated it when my last one left home. I hope he will not be moving too far away.

I think you know he has CP pal , he can do everything for himself though and he doesn't want to go out of the area , I am quite pleased about that xxx

What a great thing to hear. It sounds like you both appreciate each other. You certainly made the right decision years ago. I sure wish my daughter lived closer to me. Same with my son. Unfortunately, they live in other states. At least we can keep in touch by phone and online. Enjoy the time you two spend together and give her a hug from me.

I do enjoy her so much, claudia. She just spent the night on Friday and we had a nice time. She woke me up to the smell of sausage and eggs yesterday morning. She is so sweet to me.

I am the younger child of my parents and my parents also have same impression about me---I am not supporting myself but its real and i remember from long back they used to tell this thing as i am more affectionate and close to them foe ever and more caring for them. Is it always younger one who is like this? I dont know for sure

Yes, Feona, I think we have this special bond because I carried her two months past my due date. The doctors all said it was very unusual. We always have such fun together.

thats a beautiful and touching story, its amazing how a child can change so many things to a humans life.they bring so much fun, laughter, joy, love, and pride.its so beautiful to have that special bond that you and your daughter have,it shows by the little things you do for one another that makes your bond stronger.and to go that extra mile is great because you guys will always have one another to do for each other, always know the saying one hand washes the other, which means you do what you can,and she does what she can.this love will grow forever.

Thank you, 3lilangels. Yes, it is amazing how you can bond with a child and be willing to make any sacrifice for them. Sometimes it feels good just to know that you are loved enough to rate that extra attention from a loved one.

She really is, maddysmommy, and I'm not being prejudiced when I say it. I get so many comments from neighbors and friends about how good she is to me. We have a really close bond.

I am a very lucky mom, fab. I have to give her grandfather props for convincing me to keep her. I have never regretted that decision.
