Slogan T-shirts

So I have a problem with this so-called trendy new fashion. They say the most stupid ridiculous things on them like 'I love my boyfriend'. WHO CARES!!! I certainly don't give a toss whether you're in love with him or if you're just going out with him because he can get you cheap furniture. I'm suprised I haven't seen someone with the original slogan t-shirt 'Choose life'. But that would be melding 80s fashion with 21st century...fake 80s fashion...oh I give up. What really pi**ed me off was the other day a girl was wearing a slogan t-shirt that said 'I like you're boyfriend'. Ok for a start, why would you walk around telling the whole world that you're a trollop?! Secondly, if you're going to wear a smart alec t-shirt like that MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SPELLING RIGHT!

Ha ha. I think sometimes those types of shirts are funny. Like, I have a few. Ok, well two. But mine aren't so juvenile. To me those boyfriend things are pretty juvenile. I have one that says "I gave my word to stop at third. Suffolk County Teen abstinence day 1987" or something like that. I think it's funny. I don't wear it often, but I do like it. I also have one that has a picture of Mustard, Ketchup and Mayo and it says "Practice safe lunch, use a condiment". Not promoting trollopness. Quite the opposite. But yeah if it's a slogan shirt you can just buy from wal-mart or some other mall chain store it's probably lame. There are some places like http://www.defunker.com/ or http://www.bustedtees.com/ that have shirts that are kinda funny to me. A lot of them I'd never wear myself, but I'd laugh if I saw someone else wearing it. I do agree though, sometimes those shirts are really so juvenile. I don't hate them but I typically poke fun at people wearing them!

oh yah I agree that some slogan shirts are hilarious! Some are quite smart, if not a bit silly. The ones I'm takin about are the ones in the Wham! style with big bold printing..that say stupid, stupid things.

The ones that bother me have curse words on the front. Like f**k you. I mean, c'mon, so I need to see that walking down the street? So what if you want to rebel against the world, get a life!

Obviously people who choose to wear shirts like that have problems themselves as they do not even know who they will be offending when they put the shirt on in the morning. If they are going to use teir energy trying to abuse random people in the street then I agree-get a life.

I don't like thse T-shirts either. It is so out of fashion to wear one with a slogan on it. But for the teenage & twenties market, it is very "in". My 14 year old will wear some T-shirts with slogans, but nothing with swear words, etc.

I have quite a collection of slogan T shirts, but they are not exactly what could be classed as fashionable :-) One of them reads "Pi$$ off I'm having a bad day" Most of my slogan T shirts are goth and rock orientated, but I really don't like seeing some of the fashionable shirts these days, I mean, a pink T shirt covered with pink sequins which reads *rock chick* I don't think so

I do like shirts with words - like one had the words in cursive on the sleeve "Has a love letter ever stolen your heart? " - but I do hate the slogans or word shirts that say things like "Princess" or "I'm hot"....

I like slogan T-shirts. I have loads. I usually just wear them for lounging around or shopping or something like that - I wouldn't go out for the evening wearing one - but I do wear them outside. It's true that I've seen some that say pretty dumb unimaginative things (I love my boyfriend for example!) but I've seen others that are really funny or cute or clever. I don't think it's something worth getting upset about though!

Re: "I like you're boyfriend". I just saw the movie, "Idiocracy" last night; I almost wonder if that T-shirt was a left-over prop.

I agree with you, in a way. I wear comic book and sci-fi shirts, and I love them a lot, mostly because I love comic books and sci-fi, but I would never wear a shirt that says,"I love your boyfriend!", "I'm Cute!", or shirts like that. I wear shirts that say "Xavier School For Higher Learning" ("X-Men", for those who are not familiar with the comic book), "Vader Was Framed" (What can I say? I love "Star Wars"), or "You Know You're A Geek When..." (I am a Geek, I have arguments about Captain Kirk and Captain Picard almost all of the time with my RPG buddies).

I do not have a problem with t-shirts with writing on them I do how ever have a big problem with the pants that has words across the butt of them that is so stupid it may seem cutre to others but I think that it draws attention to your butt

Yeah, I'm not so keep on shirts like that. They are as unique and intellectual as most bumper stickers I see. I feel no need to broadcast a slogan or silly saying to the world. OH well, some people think they are being clever.

I know just what you mean too. The companies that make these slogan shirts should be ashamed of themselves. Here we're trying to right our kids and they take them in the wrong direction in teaching them to be this way or that way which isn't the right way. I hope this trend ends soon.

I like the tshirts which has a subtle humour in their statings. Like one I saw saying "I was born intelligent..education ruined me". i think these are not bad. But really the shirts cursing and saying stupid thigs are not good at all.

I'm too old to wear those and I didn't love my last boyfriend; however, I don't see how those shirts really effect you. It's the other person's body, money, and reputation. Just take a chill-pill and either get over it or buy a shirt that says: I hate your stupid T-shirt. You might want to consider yoga. :)

Some slogans r reaaly nice to read.T-shirt slogans make the world go round, especially if they're funny. Well, sometimes they r meaningless, stupid one, like as u have stated 'I love my BF/GF.
