Hello, two evenings ago I wathced the new zeitgeist movie. I was upon first watching left with a feeling of a complete need to do something. To share the word, to analyze myself and question everything I ever thought I knew about me, this world, and the government. Last night however, I decided to watch Part I again. Coming from a religious background and knowing that this part is all about religion/christianity etc. I decided to pick apart each part of the movie. There are somethings that although I may not completely agree with them based on research I have done- I would like to understand in more depth exactly why this conspiracy theorist may have come to this conclusion. It leaves me with more questions and more of a need to answer those questions. I would like to know what others have felt. If you have watched it and what you think? Do you agree or disagree? And why? If you haven't already watched the movie I highly suggest that you take the time to watch it before responding to this discussion. You can find it at www.zeitgeistmovie.com or even if you do a google search for the Zeitgeist Movie google video has the clip. I will warn you it is 2 hours long, but pull up a chair a cool drink and lets get the discussion going!

I think there are some questionable facts, especially in the first part dealing with religion. However, there are some extremely important ideas presented especailly in the third part dealing with world government. I think everyone should watch it and keep an open mind.

Yes, I've seen the movie-- in fact, I've been handing out DVDs to friends and colleagues. I have little doubt that someone could take the movie apart (factually) in a scientific manner, and dismiss it as nonsense. Similarly, I have little doubt that someone with an inclination towards conspiracy theory would interpret it as a "sign" of all the things that are wrong with the world. Bottom line, both of the above approaches miss the point, in my opinion. The point is that we need to stop and THINK, because we are increasingly being "spoon fed" news, schooling, politics, religion, and whatever else. What I observe in the world around me isn't "conspiracies," but complacency... people don't want to THINK and they don't want to be ACTIVE AGENTS in their own lives. The rallying "cry" of these times is "yeah, well, whatever...." I'd submit that the movie was "successful" in reaching YOU. You saw the movie, and now you have questions, and the need for answers... REGARDLESS of whether you agree with the viewpoints of the movie. It made you THINK. And that's the point... the movie is (as best I can tell) just a catalyst, not a documentary. Still... LOTS of stuff gets hidden from the public. Here... go watch 10 minutes on YouTube... REAL story, not supposition: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axU9ngbTxKw

I saw that movie last night... The most controversial movie I have ever seen. I did like the first part about the religion... it does make a lot of sense. But I want to do some research... in order to verify that all those other Gods have indeed the same characteristics than Jesus. The movie is well presented... and quite credible because it is well presented. Lets put it this way... If we believe everything else... why not believe the movie? My only real problem with the movie... is the collapse of the World Trade Center. I don't agree with them that the floors could have collapsed without the steel structure collapsing. I have been thinking long and hard about that one... and it would not be physically possible for the metal structure to stay up. 1) Concrete has re-enforced steel in it. For the concrete floor to collapse... the supporting horizontal steel beams have to go with it. 2) Once the horizontal beams are gone... there is nothing there to keep the vertical beams up and standing. I believe that the building collapsed under its own weight like a domino effect. The horizontal beams are design to support one floor each.... while the weight of each horizontal beam is supported by the vertical beams. Once the top floors started to collapse above the plane... the floor under the plane could not take the weight... and the domino effect started.
