What's the weirdest name you've ever heard?

I was at a Wal-mart in Detroit a few days ago, and I heard a black woman calling her daughter. She yelled "Piñata! Piñata, get over here." I thought that was a really odd name for a child. Another one I've heard is someone naming their daughter Sudafed. Most recently, someone tried to register their child's name as the email @ symbol. Is this a new trend?

The @ symbol? That is undoubtedly the strangest thing I've ever heard. I will divulge that I recently was employed by a goverment agency and had the experience of seeing a job application with the last name "Turd" on it. (First name withheld). All I could think is that this poor man probably isn't married. I can't imagine any woman wanting to be Mrs. Turd.

Oh, my gosh. He'll either be single for life, or his wife will keep her name. Poor guy.

If its true i heard once this name to one of the band leader here in my country according to him he named his son as "demon", i dont know why, but for me its weird naming your son that name, how about the effect of this name in his everyday life specially when he is growing up? Going to school or playing with other children? This kind of name sounds not good for anyone.

I can understand Damon. Demon is just weird. Maybe it's a sort of "boy named Sue" thing?

I guess Pinata would be appropriate if you were the type of parent who hangs their child from a tree and beats them with a stick! lol! People call their children some ridiculous names. Personally, I chose my daughters name to avoid schoolyard ridicule (our family name is bad enough already!) I heard of a stupid woman around here who went to register her baby's birth and told the registrar that they wanted to call the child 'gooey'. Plenty of confusion ensued until they asked her to write it down for them and she wrote 'Guy'. Apparently, she'd read it on the credits of a movie or TV show and had no idea how it was really pronounced!

now that's funny! In the last few decades a lot of mothers have named a lot of children after soap opera characters. I've always thought that was funny. And some parents are naming their children based on a theme. I knew a family back in Iowa who named their kids Hunter, Fisher and Trapper. There are a lot of Cheyennes, Dakotas and Savannahs walking around too. I named my son Andrew Christopher. Sure enough, my husband thought it would be hilarious to shorten it to AndyChrist. Men! lol .

I can tell you one I thought was really odd and I found it in a baby name book when I was pregnant with my first child and that was Car. LOL, hubby's eyes light up when he seen that one and no, I never considered it for a moment. :oD I think people are tired of the same old names and so have resorted to naming their children much like they do their pets. Look at the celebs who are naming their children after where they were conceived. I am still waiting for one like "Back seat" or "couch" to come out, LOL.

lol Probably the very worst I ever heard was when my best friend and her husband, who is from India, were trying to decide what to name their boy. He wanted Shankur, which is a popular Indian name. My friend busted out laughing, saying they most definitely were not naming their child after a sexually transmitted disease (chancre is pronounced shanker and is a sore one gets when one has syphilis).

I have heard of some people naming their baby: Baby. I don't think that was very inventive of them either.
