How long do you surf around a site before you get bored and leave?

Today I was suring around a new gift store web site I found and stayed for about five minutes before the novelty wore off. I'm not sure what inspired me to leave, but the site had given me all the information they could and there was nothing more to be learned. So, why stay?
However, there was this other site that I saw this morning about a new automatic cat scooping machine that cleans your cats litter box by itself and I stayed on that site for over thirty minutes. I guess it's a product that I really need, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered to stay there so long. If I'd had the money in my debit card, I'm pretty sure I would have purchased the product on the spot.
The site had lots of interactive features, like product demos on video, contests, blog entries, fun facts about cats, testimonials, etc. Perhaps that's why I stayed so long. Lots to do, always a new and more interesting link to explore.
So, how long do you surf around a site before you get bored and leave? What would inspire you to stay on a website even longer? If the site had videos or a blog or contest would that make you want to stay longer?
