I am so confused about our system and who does it really help.... I am annoyed, I have a close friend who has had no contact with the law for 15 years, now my friend has worked alot of temp jobs and is always praised for his/her committment and commented on how hard he/she works, unfortunetely due to his/her backround with the system, he/she cannot get a permanent position with any of the companies she/he has worked for... We have a law that has introduced The Clean Slate Bill a few years ago and yet I don't understand why my friend isnt entitled to this bill... I feel that people deserve second chances to try and start a new life for themselves and their families without always being haunted with the fact that they once held a criminal record... Is there anyone else out there who is going through the same situation or can give me some advice so I can pass on to my friend...
