I would have to say that my favorite teacher would be a toss between my 2nd grade teacher and my 10th grade multicultural studies teacher. Both showed passion and desire for teacher and I felt that they each cared about me as a student and wanted me to do good. I think they both went outside the box with teaching and taught us more than just what was in the textbook.
My worst teacher would have to be my 11th grade American government teacher. It was a required course, and it seemed cool at the time. But everyday, we never learned anything, we would take a quiz once a week and he would let us get the answers from eachother or look in the book. On most days he would come in and write on the chalkboard "D.O.R." which means Day of Rest. He would get out his newspapers and pass out any hall passes to go to the "library" which was actually a pass to skip school. It was cool then, but as I got older and went to college, I learned that I knew nothing about American government and politics like everyone and it kind've set me back. He was a nice man that I just was there and a paycheck and had lost his drive to teach which I think has happened to a lot of our teachers today. There are still good teachers out there, but not enough. Does anybody agree? Who was your best and worst teacher? Are the teachers today less motivated? If you are a teacher I would really love your opinion?
