What style of decor or house do you like?

house - when just moving in - We took a few days to move, it was during the last days of my pregnancy. So the huge living was empty. We moved two weeks later to newer base housing! This shows my massage table and cool light from curtains

What style of house/decor do you like? Are you a style diva? Do you like to do it the MArtha Stewart way - unique touches all your own - maybe you hang old cd's as curtain between rooms? Do you dream of how you'd like to decorate your house - or your dream house? Do you like this kind of thing so much that when you walk into a friend's house you re-decorate it with your mind?I like two very different styles. Asian - simple and beautiful. Platform bed, buddhist statues, koi pond. The whole works. My husband, who is Asian does too, but he likes more ornate styles. Its what he grew up with. I also like over the top romantic harem style. Beautiful scarves huge bed with headboard and footboard - wall paper that I found on Ebay that you can re-use somewhere else that you can put on either side of your bed and looks like a window of a castle. Silk sheets and pillows in jewel tones. What about you, what style is most appealling and do you enjoy decorating?

I do enjoy decorating. I am going through a decision process right now though. I am getting ready to move into a much bigger house and it is a colonial style. We are going to be renovating and redoing the inside of it while keeping some of the artwork trim and some other elegant touches. I'm afraid my style won't work completely with the whole look. My current house is contemporary ...I have made each room unique. The family room is my favorite. THe color is rasberry truffle and I love it. I have picture collages on the walls as well as a couple of paintings. The furniture and candle scones go perfectly. I'm sure I will be able to do something like this in the hallway and stairwell of our new home, but want to keep the old touches of the living room while adding some unique and modern style as well. Do you have any suggestions? I would love to hear if you do. The windows are really tall and the kitchen, dining room, and family room are all open into one room. I will be designing the kitchen as we will be replacing everything. I love the way your bedroom sounds. I have always found the Asian styles appealing but never knew if I could pull it off as a complete look.

Sounds like you put a lot of thought and time into your house. Do your friends and family ask for help?

I like comfortable furniture in a casual style. I like dark wood and the colors royal blue and orange.I like simple lines too. So I would describe my style as Swedish meet Tuscany. The simple lines of Sweden with the colors of Tuscany. My dream house would look like a castle from the outside and feel like a vacation home in the inside.
