Hi everybody! This was a last working day of the week while one of the colleagues came late to office. He was a bit worried, having a piece of paper in hands. While enquiring it was learnt that he has received a notice for disconnection of service of some utility due to non payment of Bill. This was really a matter of self responsibility to pay the dues well in time. Have you ever received any notice from some service provider like mobile bill, electricity bill, insurance premium etc? What was your reaction upon having such notice or reminder? Any suggestion to avoid the notices?

Yes with our internet connection, we receive payment notice because our payment processor is delay. But according to our payment processor, they pay it exactly on due date that is why they always got it delay. We just ignore the notice...anyway, the bill dont go up meaning that they receive payments every month but its delay. So we are not bothered by this that much.

I actually had one of the guys from the utilities department show up on my doorstep to turn off my electricity before I had even received the notice in the mail! I had to promise him that I would go straight to the office and pay up on the bill so that he wouldn't shut everything off. And believe me, I was there in less than 20 minutes! I think that staying on top of the bills instead of letting them get behind is the best way to prevent things like that from happening. Now if only I could follow my own advice! LOL

Hi Katlady! Thanks for sharing your experience. Here the notice of disconnection are not served via mail rather the department itself sends the rider instead. Thanks for response.

I've never received a notice like that. I've only been late on a bill once, and it really wasn't my fault. The credit card company did not contact me to let me know that they did not accept checks from the company that funded my checks, so they rejected it without notifying me. Since it rejected it, they charged us a rejected check fee, then that put us over our credit limit (it was only a $500 credit limit). Since they didn't notify us, we weren't able to send in a payment by a different form so we were also charged a LATE fee. It infuriated me because I am NEVER late on bills! My suggestion to avoid notices is to pay your bills on time.

The only solution to not recieveing cut off notices is pay the bill in a timely manner. I have missed sone bills by a day or two is all. My wife is always worried about the bills being paid on time. I tell her not to get stressed out. As there are 2 things that will happen, It either gets paid or it doesnt. It's that simple. Then you deal with it later if it hasnt been paid. Its called living one day at a time. That's my way of dealing with any and all bills. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi Grandpa! Yes, the bills must be paid in time. Did you feel sometimes it makes one "teasing" all the times if some bill is unpaid and the due date is just been over :) Your wife is doing great to remember. Please convey my Regards to her as well. Thanks for participation here! Aliasad~

What I do believe is that all services, for such clients, must be pre-paid hehehe :) Just Kidding. Being a responsible consumer of a certain service one must feel that he should always be first to pay since he enjoyed the facility without a break... making all of his/her comforts.

I've recieved the notice many times from by wireless provider. Mainly because it has the same name as my long distance and DSL provider. I have more than once over the years paid the long distance twice and not the wireless. I had to rename them in my budget management software program. It is embrassing but no one needs to know but you.

Hi. First of all welcome to mylot. Well, this is really surprising to learn that same name of two different service providers, isn't it :) Thats good practice of maintaining the budget. Thanks for your nice contribution.

In the past I have received plenty of these notices, when I was completely broke and had no money to pay the bills on time. It's never a nice thing to happen but we have standing orders set up at the bank so the bills are paid on time. Just remember to make sure there is enough money in the bank to pay the bills :-)
