which one would you rather use? contact lenses or eyeglasses?

contact lens - Contact lenses are small plastic discs shaped to correct an eyesight problem such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. These are called refractive errors. They may also be used by people who have had surgery for cataracts.

Contacts are placed directly on the eye, where they float on a film of tears in front of the cornea. Correct design and fitting of the lenses are essential for comfort, safety, and accurate correction.

Improvements in contact lenses have made them more comfortable and easier to wear. In the United States, 29 million people wear contact lenses; most wear soft lenses. For these people, contact lenses offer a relatively safe and effective way of correcting vision problems.

Several types of contact lenses are available to correct nearsightedness. Contact lenses are needed after cataract surgery if an artificial lens cannot be implanted in the eye.

my dad wears eyeglasses. before he used contact lenses but he stopped after 1 year and used eyeglasses instead. he doesn't like contact lenses because he always gets teary eyed and he gets irritated by it. but my brother is now using contact lenses. my dad just bought him a week ago. i don't know why my brother likes to use contact lenses instead. it takes him 30 mins to wear his contact lenses and 30 mins to take them out. he wore glasses before but he lost it twice already. lol. i don't use contact lenses or eyeglasses. my eyes work just fine..well as for now. but if i were to choose, i think i would go for contact lenses. =)

I prefer eyeglasses. The idea of sticking foreign objects in my eyes, keeping them moist, worrying about losing them and scurrying around looking for one or the other seems like one big, boatload of hasstle I do not want. I wear glasses for reading only...I leave them on my desk, pick them up, put them back and I usually know where they are. That works for me!

i prefer to use eyeglasses... it is safer and more convenient as well... i am not a very patient person and if i have to waste so much time just to put on a contact lenses, i won't do it... also, people say that contact lens can irritate our eyes and make our eyes very dry...

yes wearing contact lenses will definitely take time. that's why if you're always in a hurry, it's better to use eyeglasses. =)

Well, i think contact lenses are worn for a purpose and as far as i know we also wear sunglasses to protect our eyes from the scotching sun. therefore it depends on what situation one is facing. however, baring that i've got no problem with my eyes i will go for sunglasses.

Like you, my eyes do not require any aid to see properly also. But if time comes that I need to use one, I would choose eyeglasses. There something about wearing eyeglasses that makes me feel, ummm, cool. People too are saying that I look good with eyeglasses, it fits my image. Plus contact lenses hurts the eye to much during first use, and I am not willing to undergo to such hardship just to see properly. Eyeglasses work perfectly fo me.

I prefer wearing contact lenses as I think I look better and I do not have to keep pushing up my glasses every now and then when it slips now my nose. I used to wear them everyday but after hearing so many stories, I now wear them alternate days so as to give my eyes some 'breathing space'

Though many of my friends advised me to wear conatct lens based on the reason that the eyes will look beautiful if I wear lens ,but all my efforts went in vain when I went to attain the demo for wearing contact lens conducted by my ophthalmologist. He showed for 25-30 minutes with great care and precision as to how to follow certain tips to wear contact lens...As simple as it seemed when he showed me I felt very confident of using it.But when my turn comes to show how I will do that ,I felt so eerie at the touch of my fingers in my eyes that tears came out.My eyes were so sensitive and I felt I cannot let my eyes cry every time I put lens.Such a torture to those delicate organs. So finally to the utter disappointment of the trainer, I declared my lack of interest in using contact lens.So nowI am happily settled with my spectacles giving me a serious and matured look.

I have been wearing glasses for 25 years and contact lenses for 15 years. I started wearing contacts in high school and wore them all through collage. I wore them too much and wasn't good at taking them out. I sufficated my eyes and had to stop wearing them for a while. That was 6 yeaers ago and I still do not weat them reguarly. I wear them when I am going to be around water especially a water park. I tend to wear my glasses because it is easier and I have not found a pair of contacts I really find comfortable since I developed astingmatism. Plus glasses are more in style today then they were 15 years ago. Kids don't get made fun as much.
