Boracay, Phils: Isn't it polluted there???

Boracay is considered as one of Philippines major tourist spots especially during summer season. It is in this place that you'll get to enjoy dipping your body for several hours in the water; feeling the freshness of the air; enjoying freedom away from city life; and of course, a lot of gimiks "hang-outs". What else can you ask for? Boracay has it all! Recently, as the island becomes modernized - a lot of big multinational companies e.g. Shangri-La , Marriott Hotels sees big profit potential in the island, it is obviously they are slowly creating a bad niche in the island. Destroying the natural sand and polluting the air and water. SO, now, will we still consider Boracay- cleanest beach in the Philippines? Let me know what you think of....

Ive been there several times this year. I think Boracay is still a nice place. The beach is not polluted in any way. Its just that the Island itself is polluted by so many tourists, venodrs, businessmen etc. They have focused more on the famous white beach they have forgotten the Island itself. I happen to ride a trike on the maid road, going to the other beaches located in the island, I must say, Boracay is the island and not only the beach. I hope they can do something about it. Even the population there, I even saw a Brent International School Boracay? wow!

They didn't really constructed those buildings on the sands of boracay. Its resources are still being protected. And i mean, if hawaii and miami can build hotels on beach sides and they are still a hit, then why not Philippines?

I went to Boracay a little over two years ago and I absolutely loved it. It's so small I can't imagine how much it has grown now. I really hope they don't overdevelop it that would be a sad thing. There should be one quiet spot left. I recommend Boracay to anyone who wants to go on a nice peaceful vacation but I hope not too many people find out about it so it won't destroy it's natural beauty.
