What is the difference between a frog and a toad? Do you like this as your pet?

Toads are fat-bodied, where frogs are generally slim. Toads have warts, where a frog's skin is smooth. Toads can live in drier climates, where most frogs usually live in or near water. In the Tropics, where most anuran (members of the order comprising the frogs, toads, and tree toads) species occur, however, the differences are harder to determine, and some species could qualify as either toads or frogs. Honestly, I do not like it grown as a pet in the house. I doubt my grand kids would like to see them jumpiung here and there. LOL

If you kiss a frog it will turn into a prince. If you kiss a toad it will give you warts. Silly. I thought everyone knew that. Toads are actually frogs but frogs are not toads. The term toads tends to refer to "True Toads".... members of the family Bufonidae, containing more than 300 species. These types of frogs have are characterized by: * stubby bodies with short hind legs (for walking instead of hopping) * warty and dry skin (usually preferring dryer climates) * paratoid (or poison) glands behind the eyes * The chest cartilage of toads is different also. * Toads tend to lay eggs in long chains. (There are some toads (genera Nectophrynoides), however, that are the only types of anurans to bear live young!) True Toads can be found worldwide except in Australasia, polar regions, Madagascar, and Polynesia, though Bufo marinus has been artificially introduced into Australia and some South Pacific islands.
