Here's an portion of news article from CNN:
"Earlier, sources close to the case told CNN that federal prosecutors offered to recommend an 18- to 36-month prison sentence for the suspended star quarterback for his alleged role in the dogfighting operation, but that Vick's attorneys were trying to reduce that to less than a year.
The judge in the case will have the final say over the plea agreement."
Do you think 18 to 36 years is a fitting punishment for what he did? Personally, I think he should get more like 10-15. What do you think? And do you think the judge will be harsh or lenient?

Well it's hard to say for me, what about the other's involved, what are they facing? Is he receiving a fair sentence or is he being an example. Or is he receiving less of a penalty than the other's because he's a star? Sadly I have not kept up with this story so I am not sure what's going on. I think a year in a real prison for 18-36 months is tough, but if it's going to be one of those white collar prisons, then no it’s sounds good to me. So I reckon depends on where he will spend his time. Does anyone know that yet?

I think the judge will be lenient b/c they almost always are with celebrities. It's rare they are give harsh sentances. I honestly don't know how long he should get as far as the law states b/c I've never watched a case about this type of thing. I think as far as the law goes, he should get the maximum of what any other dog fighters have gotten as it's not fair to let him off easy when others have been punished harshly. As far as morally, he should be punished a lot longer and hopefully he will!!

I think he should get the same treatment he gave the dogs. I would like to see him put in a pit and left to defend himself. I do not like people who torture animals. I don't think this man has any right to be a football player. He has no concern for life. He should never be allowed to return to football. We do not want our children looking up to this man and if he is allowed to play again this will happen. He must pay for what he has done. I think if he was not a football player he would get more time. I also think he should be put in a maximum security prison and let him fight off the other prisoners there and see how he likes it. I am sure the judge will go along with the deal, for the most part they do. I have not actually heard of a case that the judge changed the plea agree on.

Considering what Paris Hilton, Linsey Lowhan, and their sort got, at least it is SOME time behind bars. We do indeed have two justice systems. At least his professional career will never be what it was after this dog crap. His earning potential is tanked.

Personally I hope that he receives a punishment that any regular joe would receive, but as in most cases money talks. So, I doubt that the judge will be too harsh. But we have to look at all that he has lost as well. He is receiving punishment elsewhere, he is suspended from playing football, he has lost a lot of faith from his fans. I am sure any endorsements he had are up in smoke. I know that at the thrift store I worked for, we had a couple donations of Michael Vick jerseys, that parents were getting rid of because they didn't want to support him in any way. I think that says something. But all else aside, legally, I think that the proposed punishment is fair.
