My crazy neighbor....

OK, it's after 11pm here and my neighbor just came knocking on my door. Apparently her kitten was in my yard... I knew someone's kitten was in my yard earlier because my dog was trying to "play" with it!!! When I got home from work my husband and son were telling me about the blood all over my dogs snout because of this kitten under our hottub. We didn't let our dog out for a while, and when we did she just went about her business so we figured the kitten had climbed out from behind the hottub and went home... Well, no, it was still there because our nutso neighbor just came by to get it!!!! It took us about 20 minutes of coaxing to get the kitten out (the only way to get to it would have been to practically take our deck apart). I think if we had just left it there the cat would have come out by itself and gone home over night. There are parts of our fence which are pushed into our yard (from the neighbors side because they have so much crap up against it!) so I'm sure the kitten will be back! I tell you, if it had been their rooster, I woulda said "Um, no, I don't think Henry's back here" and just let my dog eat it for breakfast tomorrow!!!! Anyone else got "crazy" neighbors????? Or is it just lucky ol' me????

I'm sorry you think I'm mean. I try to be respectful of others but have a very hard time dealing with this particular neighbor that thinks the world should stop because of them. I keep my dog inside the fence and make sure that she does not get out to annoy my neighbors. I also try to make sure she is not barking after dark (or really at all when she is out). I tend to think I deserve the same respect. Normally people around here are in bed by 11pm, so it was pretty late for her to be coming knocking on my door when the kitten most likely would have come home on it's own. Honestly, I thought it was pretty "neighborly" of me to allow her into my back yard to get the kitten, which shouldn't have been there and had already scratched my dog up. I just hope the kitten doesn't have rabies!! Now I have to take my dog to the vet to get an extra booster...

I don't really have crazy neighbors but there are these 3 husky dogs that are in the yard across from our alley that howel at anything and when they do it can be really nerve wracking it happens at least once or twice a day I hear these poor dogs that all they want is attention I think...I have younger neighbors living to the side that like to sit on their back patio and drink they are usually pretty respectful about the noise level although one night they had a friend over that was so loud I almost went out and asked for it to be toned down as my 15 month old was in bed sleeping.

We do have a lot of dogs that bark a lot around here, usually when people are out walking around. My dog will bark at people too, I just try to keep her quiet outside when it's late.

We have that in our neighborhood too and the people are pretty good and trying to keep their dogs quiet but the ones across the alley I don't ever recall them hushing their dogs but they are rarely home as well

Your not the only one. I have a neighbor who has 2 cats and 2 dogs and one dog she just adopted and has been known to not be very good arround cats yet sot adopted the dog any way. Well now she has to keep the poor thing locked up in a crate because of the cats. I think that is cruel. Honestly I think she should have adopted a dog that is fine with other dogs and cats.

Yeah, you gotta wonder sometimes why people do things like that. This same woman once stopped and picked up a baby deer - there was nothing wrong with it and the mother would have come back for it. But since she has picked it up chances of the mother coming back for it were slim so she had to take it to an animal sanctuary close by.

I am cured with wierd neighbors too. We have these ones that have a dog I think its a husky mix of some sort. Now this dog {whos old} never has water out side and needs a bath soooo bad, he had growths starting on his snout, and he is MEAN. On day this summer it was well into the 90's and the dog was out all day no water. I went over and told them they should give there dog some water. They slamed the door in my face!!! I was like What the Hell? Poor dog. I hate neighbors like that!! I wish we could pick who lives by us...No im going to go live in the middle of the woods {cant see the house from the road} with only one way in..a long windy dirt driveway. Then stupid neigbors couldnt bother me!! LOL

Hey, you must be going to live at my family's property in the moutains!!! It's so peaceful up there - except for the neighbors that bought in a long time ago that have a beagle that howled all weekend (no big deal really) or the guy across the creek that has a cannon that he shot off every 20 minutes (good thing it stopped shortly after dark!!!). I don't understand how people can have a pet and not take care of it though... Just giving it the basics would be ok - food and water... All of our other neighbors are pretty cool - it's just the people behind us, and I most people don't understand how we put up with them....

Hmmm.. :) You should just kept the cat , Henry right? at your own home so that you can do anything you want with it since it was the cat's fault why your dog has blood in his snout. And in the first place, your nuts neighbor does not really know that his cat was in your home.. so you were in a safe position that time. :) too bad,. but just like you said, the cat can easily come back to your yard.. I don't have a nuts neighbor just like yours.. But one thing that I don't like the most about my neighbor is that the fact that when he is drunk, he gets to use their karaoke / sing-along. and he just sings so loud.. and worse, so bad! :( it's so annoying.. and it happens almost everyday. I'm lucky too. .lol

Henry is the rooster - crows 24/7, not just in the morning which is bad enough.... And since she heard the cat from her yard she knew it was here. I think sometimes I'm just way too nice and I shoulda just told her to let it come home on it's own. If it comes back I might have to call animal control - I don't like cats any more than I like her. Karaoke would drive me nuts!!! It's bad enough when they're fighting all day long...

Wow that's pretty rude. I mean I know it's their cat but that's too late to be knocking on someone's door. It would have went home by itself. Lucky for me, I don't have neighbors like that, but if someone would have knocked on my door at 11 at night I would have gave them a piece of my mind!

Well, if I had been asleep I would have let them keep knocking! But I'm usually up late...

It's kind of hard to make cats stay on your side of the yard. LOL! That is why I never had an outside cat. I always kept my cats inside because they get into to much trouble! Anyway... I have a neighbor that is annoying, but I bite my lip and I try to be nice. :)

Since the kitten is kinda small, I'm sure it just squeezed through the fence and probably will again. And yeah, since we are neighbors, we are civil with them - the "Hi" over the fence and all that. But they're still annoying :)

Well, here, pets are not that so important especially the cats. Maybe your neighbor loves the pet so much that she don't want to sleep overnight without that cat.

I think she noticed one was missing and heard it in our yard. I am thankful that she didn't just go into the yard without telling me.

OMG, if someone had come to my door at 11 PM about a kitten, I would have told them that it could wait until morning. I have to get up at 5 in the morning for my job and I am in bed by 11. People are so thoughtless. I also would have been tempted to tell them that had the fence not been pushed in, the kitten might not have ended up in my yard! Ha! At least the kitten was removed, unharmed and all is well!

My husband gets up early too and was in bed by then. My dog barking at the front door and the noise we were making in the back yard to get the kitten woke him up. Thankfully he went right back to sleep when the comotion was over with. I just hope the kitten isn't back tonight when we get home!

My Crazy neighbour jumped our fence and poisoned my 3 rabbits because the day before I only let him play with them for only half of an hour insteat of a whole hour. He also then another time cut 2 of my chooks heads off as I would not let him come over any more to play with any of my pets. He has now been taken away from his family as he was dangerous.

I have a new home for more than two years, but neighbors and the number of meetings of not more than 10 times, each time to ask about the hint of good, it is mutual understanding, there is nothing intimacy, and there is no conflict, which is perhaps the city's sad it.
