We're a family of five and every weekend we visit the mall. It is the same routine every week. We watch a movie, do some shopping and eat somewhere. I want to do other activities with them but it seems like all we can do is to go the mall. Do you have any suggestions?

Try something new. Or try something that you've never done. Kids really enjoy "challenging" and "daring" stuff. Why don't you share your "firsts" with them?

We look for shows like boat shows, car shows, home and garden shows, etc. Those are always a lot of fun, you can go and dream about what if, and they usually give away lots of little goodies and free samples!

Going to the Mall every weekend can be quite tiresome, boring and EXPENSIVE. HEHEHEHEHE. Been there, done that. I try to vary our "weekend experiences" with my kids. Sometimes, we go Kite Flying. Other times we go Biking. One time we went to Manila Zoo, although it was a bit stinky, we enjoyed. One time we bought Mcdo "take out" and just watched the sunset. Sometimes, we stay at home and play Board Games, involve them in tending the garden, transferring the plants from one pot to another. Once I brought them to the Pet Shop to pick the fishes for the aquarium (I had to re-stock my aquarium anyway). If finances permit, we go on a "road trip", probably in a place outside the City (although we packed our lunch already) and just find a quiet place, sometimes take pictures. There are plenty of things to do aside from malling. You just have to be creative. And actually, they're cheaper than going to the Mall.

Something really interactive like fishing and a picnic or somethinglike that is always great. Or breaking up the schedule once a month and going camping or out of town for the day. Child-friendly places like the beach, swimming pool, zoos etc are always a hit!
