I am so excited. My husband should be home within the next 30 days!! He deployed one month and 2 days after we were married...and we only lived in our house together 3 nights before he left so this is extra exciting for him to come home and get to live in our house as husband and wife! I have been praying every night that the Lord would send him home to me safely. We have also decided that when he gets here, we are going to adopt a soldier. Basically, we are going to pick out someone who doesn't get anything from home and take them on as our soldier to support. We will send cards, letters, packages so that this person doesn't feel left out when others are receiving mail from home. I didn't realize how many of the men and women defending our country DO NOT receive support from back home. Thanks to all of you wives (and husbands) who have spouses who are serving in the military. Without your support, their jobs are much more difficult and they have enough to deal with already.

Congrats first. The separate of a husband and a wife is cruel to the couple, especially when get married for a short time. I am not in the military but I have been working for the company in another coutry for 1.5 months. I am deeply missing my wife and baby. The return date to my own country is next month, nearly 30days. So I will also be able to see my family within the next 30days.

I totally understand how you feel about the excitement of seeing your husband. My husband's first deployment started four days after we were married. He came home a year later and it was absolutely amazing the first few months of him being home. He has left again on his second deployment and was only home two years before this one. We really have had no time to actually build a life together, but we do have a beautiful 16 month old little girl. I month after he came home the first time, i got pregnant with her. she helps me through it as well as my two sons who are 7 and 9. I am so excited for you that your hubby is finally coming home to you. I wish you two the best. if you ever need a friend i am here.

I'm so happy for you. My husband is deploying in Nov. In the past when he deployed when I sent care packages I'd send enough treats for him to share with his co-workers. I think I may adopt a soldier myself. I never realized that some soldiers don't have the support from home. With the holidays coming around soon it would be nice to make sure someone doesn't go without. Enjoy every minute you can with your husband. May I offer a word of advice? I don't know if you're planning on having any children on not, if not make sure you're taking your birth control regularly. I've gotten pregnant twice when my husband returned from his deployments. ;-)

Hey that is great! He should be home by now and I hope things are doing okay it will take some adjustments probably to get used to each other again. I think it i s great that you are adopting a soldier, you just might save his life letting him know someone cares about him and what he is fighting for. Well, I wish you luck come back tell us how it is when you come back up for some air..

So happy for you both. My husband is also coming home from a deployment in only a couple of weeks. You know I never thought of how there were soldiers over there that didn't recieve anything for Christmas. I'll have to look into that adopt a soldier thing. Thanks for writing about it.

I am so excited for you! I know how it feels to be seperated for so long. I did it through 2005 and 2006. He came home in July of 2006 and now he has deployed again and has been gone since June and won't be back until Sept. of 2008. We will get R&R of course. It just doesn't seem like enough time. I think adopting a soldier is a great idea! I am so happy that your husband is coming home to you! I know you must be so happy!

Well, I hope the reunion went well. Its a very admirable thing to do by supporting a troop. It takes a lot of fortitude and courage for a young person to join the military, especially if its against their family's wishes. I've seen too many families ostracize these young adults.

Yeah! That is so exciting!!! My husband has not deployed yet but he is going to be cross-training for six months then he will be deployable. While he is cross-training though me and my kids are going to stay here while he is a few hours away so we will only see him on the weekends if we make the drive =)
