My first cat was named BoJangles - I think after the song - I was a baby/toddler so had no say in the name or the fact that he was an unfixed, outdoor cat and came home beaten up every day until he was finally killed. And likely impregnanted a lot of cats - leading to the murder of many cats at the local pound. Please fix your kitty! There are so many dangers to being an outside cat, poison- from people and plants, snakes, cars, mean kids, other animals and skin cancer from the sun. My Bau tsu - pork bun had to be put down for that. He was an outdoor cat before I met him. Then we had Alfalpha - from moon base alpha - from Space 1999 - again I had no say in whether he were an indoor or outdoor cat and he was run over by a car. Sir Lancelot - who lived to the ripe old age of 6 - as a pampered, happy indoor cat. Although many indoor cats live until 20 or more - he was actually not so old. He was a tuxedo cat. I called him by his full name or Lance or Lancers or Lance-abance-aprance-alot. Porkbun - my sweetie - an all white cat. It was hard to lose him - I was pregnant - but it was either that or remove his ears and soon his nose and eyes as he contracted skin cancer from being an outdoor kitty before he arrived at the shelter we adopted him from. My kitty now is Luna - I call her Luna Belle - luna means moon! And Jack whom we are mostly just fostering. Oh and my friend from childhood had a cat named Pyewacket - from the movie, Bell, Book, and Candle. The called him Pye mostly. I like your name Muse - and would be a good one for a pet for me - for Muse was taken from Greek Mythology, for the sisterhood of goddesses or spirit who inspire the creative process - and I'm an artist. They were water nymphs - interesting as I adore water. You could name your cat directlly from the names of the muses, like, Caliope or Clio or maybe Thalia. Have fun deciding!

What does GK mean? I do yoga for relaxation and strength. When I was pregnant I did pregnancy yoga which helped me avoid leg and back pain.

hi artemis432,i feel sorry about your cats that you lost..thanks dear for telling me that thing..i never was aware of it before that what can happen if i don't keep an eye on my cat..really one has to look for their pets all the time and train them accordingly and not only loving and adoring them..well i am glad that you liked the name muse..ok so its Greek name for Goddess of creativity..all right.. you are artistic too i mean apart from your G.K. ..thats good..even i like water a lot but my reasons are a bit different i love water may be because i am a Virgo and other reason for it is i find water pleasing and relaxing to look at..and its good for many reasons..i can see your affection for water in your picture also and i like that too..as i do Yoga and this Aasan (as we name Yoga positions) is one of my favorite..i know yours is more like somersaulting..right?

When my five sons were young, we had a number of cats: marmalade cats were Tiger; grey cats were Smokey etc - all very predictable and boring. When my sons reached teen years, they named the cats. We had Napoleon and Apollo and the last one - my favourite - was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, or Wolfie or Wolf for short. Wolf really lived up to his name. Whenever I had classical music playing, he would curl up near the music and enjoy it. Every dog in the neighbourhood must have thought he really was a wolf, because if they ventured on our property they would leave with blood noses. Wolf would not allow them to stay and they (mostly cattle dogs) were quite clearly frightened of him.

I have had a lot of cats and some of them had weird names. I can translate some of the names: Chato = Annoying (this one was really cute and annoying. He would always pee on my mothers foot, who knows why). Gata Maior = Biggest Cat Gata Menor = Smaller Cat Those two were two female cats and they were very similar to each other. Neguinha = Black She was totally black. Linda = Beautiful This one I got on the street and when I saw her to my mother she said things like "I don't want this cat" to me and to the cat she kept repeating "she is so beautiful" I kept the cat and the cat kept the name. Filomena and Salustiana Just two weird names. Those are the ones I remember. I had a friend who had this cat named Cicero Mequetref. Nice cat, bad name :)

Well, people say what I named my cats is pretty cute. I have 2 cats (brothers) and named them Jay and Silent Bob. Oh, and I used to know someone who had a cat with these awkwardly green eyes and he named the cat Wasabi...pretty cute IMO
